I had a friend back in the mid-1980s Jesse Salinas Jesse Salinas had a 63 Impala SS convertible it was candy apple it was tits he had the first system hydraulic system in his car in Nampa Idaho or the whole valley for that matter that could snake he could lift each one up and down independently and I remember riding in that car I'm a hot rod guy and I've got a 69 Dodge charger but I have more fun than his car when we go in it and it was coming home from work about 2:00 a.m. one morning and he had a bridge abruptment and it shoved the engine right back through along with the transmission and we went to Jesse's funeral that next week rest in peace Jesse Salinas.

@@rollyg123 correct. Lowriding started in the 40's with people putting bricks and sandbags and cutting their springs to make their car low. They made it against the law to have your car too low in California in 1958, so someone figured out a way to put hydraulics in a car to raise the car up if the cops were around by 1959. 1960's through the 70's is when the whole culture started growing.
