I had an edible a little while ago and stumbled on this. Good timing. There is a Lowrey QuickStart on FB marketplace in my area for free and I'm tempted. It will also work with my 70's deco. I was a kid in the 80's and loved the cheesy Lowrey sound.

@@PunchandJudyDuo Today I found a "Teenie Genie" so I need to just be patient and something will turn up. The QuickStart is super basic and a bit out of my way so I'll probably pass. I do love the Lowrey look and sound, but Baldwin Fun Machines are catching my attention too.

Found this awesome organ on Craigslist for $30 and sold it for $120! Would've held on to it or sold it for more but a few of the voices didn't work and the off switch for the accompaniment wasn't functioning (which made it tricky to use on stage). Loved this keyboard!

@schepler2 It didn't come with a stand when I bought it and it didn't look like there was anything missing on the underside. It does have hard plastic-rubber style feet on the bottom which gives me the impression that it was meant to sit on something.

HI punch and judy, I'm working on the same organ. I am wandering is the left hand chord can be stop without turning off the keyboard. I noticed the NC key but it only affects (stops) the chord when the beat box is running...Thanks ! Nice vid by the way!

I just bought one on Ebay. I have a large Conn 650 theatre organ and Hammond M-111 but just couldn't live without this cool funky organ. I have tried desperately to find a service manual for it and FINALLY found one after calling Lowrey- oddly still in business undoubtably under a re-oragnized company. THEY however didn't have one but gave me a few names of people that may have them. I found 2 people and ordered one. I haven't found the OWNERS MANUAL though and would love to find one of those so I can see how to operate the various functions of the organ. The one I bought appears to be in mint condition with music rack but not sure if it will come with a cover of some sort. I saw on a picture of the cover of the service manual that it had legs but that may have been an option. I do think it was an accessory. Anyone have an owners manual that I can pay you for a copy?. Enjoy.

***** Do you have a manul for the Wandering Genie? I just picked one up and was curious about a few little things that aren't self explanatory, or maybe just aren't functioning as I'd expect. Great video by the way, it's what convinced me to buy it.

You can't really compare this to a Hammond, though (many players dis the White Elephant, trying to compare it to a mini-Moog) Apples and Oranges... Of course if I had to choose the "desert-island" organ, it would be a tone-wheel organ, but the transistor organ has its well deserved place in the palette of tones. What makes this Wandering Genie so cool is its uniqueness- never seen anything else quite like it. The mid to late 70s were full of strange designs as folks tried to figure out what the future of keyboards were going to be. Just a few years later Casios took over the market and all keyboards became pretty homogenized. Nowadays bland featureless digital keys and MIDI controllers are king, but give me something REAL instead, something unique and funky, something no one else has, even something cheesy!

Possibly the worst portable keyboards from Lowrey and very cheezy. Later in the mid 1980s, Lowrey introduced some really cool portable keyboards, but sadly Lowrey has been concentrating on the retired and elderly with their organ products than offer other arranger keyboards for the younger generation and young families. Lowrey is shutting down by the end of this month and sadly the end of Lowrey.
