Of course you can be a proud Muslim but this song is not really about "the Muslim world" It's rather about the contributions of the whole Orient to modern science in many different disciplines and how this history got forgotten due to colonialism and imperialism. He exposes the lies about the idea of the the civilised and enlightened West and the ignorance or backwardness of the East
