Good job on the lowering adapter. My wife found a B1 passat/dasher diesel 4speed manual 5 door hatchback for me to drive to school and work instead of spending money on a newer car. I thought it was a great idea. I live them older vdubs. I killed the 1.5 liter engine it had. #1 con. rod through the block. Wife was pissed. I drive it too hard. So....now we have three dasher wagons. 2 are diesels and the last is a parts car with gas engine and it came with a spare gas engine. I am stating all this because one of the three wagons we got needed a new wheel cylinder on the left rear drum. This is my daily driver. Now I know how to work on the drums, but it wasn’t the first car with drums I’ve had to replace. Also, my daily has a turbo....but i don’t want it and i don’t know if it even works. It doesn’t feel like it does. I plan on taking the dead dashers intake manifold and swapping it into my daily. And fixing the fuel delivery problem it has. And taking out the non functional dealer-installed air conditioner. Its a project alright. Thanks for keeping the old caddy alive, mr myers.

That’s awesome man! I thought of doing a tdi swap in it. Now I’m leaning towards a 1.6l turbo echo diesel. Thanks for watching!

I lowered mine with a flip kit and air shocks. You get more drop at 4.5 inches, and the track in not widened by the 1/2" per side with plates. Cheaper too. I wanted mine slammed, these plates are ok for moderate drop. No clearance problems with the flip kit. The hard part is getting the front really low and still retain some ride quality and alignment

@@MK-xs4up i am running those! And coilovers, so its slammed wothout cranking the coils down too much. Better ride, and also there ends up being plenty of space for the tires, no rubbing on the struts and no spacers

sometimes it a step by step process, from the recycle service i restore a laptop i only need more memory and try to save money have 1 laptop to go and a netbook. but i get there and so with this caddy or rabbit its step by step you get there as fair the crash your in one piece and now you learn a mistake you did. last we all try to save money.so i save example on mi account there 199 and 25 cent i save the cent .the 25 cent and 7 cent and it doest sound a lot step by step you see it grow and its good for someone who has sudden a smaller budget.over and later sire

So just to confirm. I know you we’re replacing some drum parts. But If I just needed to lower it. I just take the wheel off, axle nut and everything there and remove the drum, add the plate then assemble back in that order? Do I need to take tension off the leafs springs or anything?
