Absolutely spot on with your review, thank you for understanding the design of these bags for being able to move or run with your camera safe but minimising how much gear you really need to take with you. Done the wrapping my camera in a towel thing for so long and so glad someone has designed a bag so perfect.
Cool! I've been using the version 1 of this bag for years and it's perfect for everything I do in the outdoors. The older 200 fits under an airline seat and fits a D750 with a 24-70VR mounted with a 14-24 in the extra compartment. I fit a down jacket and raincoat, food, hat gloves and all the power cords, filters spare batteries, pocket knife, first aid kit etc inside as well. I use a platypus in camelback mode when hiking and slip a 13" laptop in the hydration sleeve when travelling (more padding). My Gitzo traveler even fits inside when travelling. I bought an "everyday" backpack at Christmas. I emptied my Lowepro but couldn't fit it all inside so I sent it back. Now get some op-tech reporter straps and it'll be perfect!
I've got a Lowepro Flipside 300 AW which I love. The access to the main compartment is against your back when you wear it so nobody can try to steal something in a crowded area.
Thank you for taking time to bring this. very practical, hands on review. I really appreciate it. I have used the 200 for some years and wanted a good look at the 300.
Finally a review of the photosport lineup for what the bag is intended for, hike and run. Great job and thanks!
The best place to put your 15” macbookpro is the hydration space. It is padded and the laptop fits snuggly
Great review, I was looking for a bag like this. Awesome job!
A camera bag I can run/hike with is exactly what I've been looking for. Thanks!
Perfect review...had the same 'wants' and about the same size as you. Thanks so much for the thorough review!!!
Just got it from my EBC trek in Sept! Thanks for your excellent review
Beautiful review!!! I’m so impressed with your fitness level, cartwheels, running, and equipment you use! You are a photography Goddess!!! I’m upgrading packs. You are so right about all those needs in a pack. I have another Lowe pack but I’m definitely getting this one. Your so cute! Keep up with the videos ❤️
Great review! I just got the 450aw, and now thinking of this one for shorter trips! Thanks for the review!
Great review, you touched on all the main points and more:) Thanks
Thank you for the review .Ordered it on amazon yesterday :)
I just bought this backpack, and love it. I appreciate your review, and have the same wish for the 15" MacBook Pro when on a long flight. I was having a hard time finding the AW cover, and voila - there it is!
Thanks for the review. I always buy too big or too small and ive got lots of bags that just miss short of the mark. This bag definitely is closer to what im looking for vs hours of research.
Thanks for the review. I clicked on your link and bought one! :)
Finally! A video where someone actually puts a camera into this bag. Like 12 reviews and you’re the only person to do this.
I've been using the Photo Sport 200 AW for about 2 years and love it! I might get this one as well just for the additional storage. I also put my 13 inch macbook into the water blader section.

will it fit a 15" macbook too?
Since you asked, I use an old, square Solidex messenger style bag with a single strap. I did not choose it, but it came bundled with a used Canon 1D I purchased, and I thought it looked useful. It has dividers for two separate DSLR's of even 1D monolith stature, a mesh pocket in the lid, space for a few lenses, a medium sized front pocket, and a back flat pocket. On a recent visit to Italy from these United States, I used it as my carry-on bag on the international flight, and it held everything but my clothes. I stored my Canon 5D Mark II with battery and charger, memory cards, four lenses (35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4, 100 2.8 macro, and 100-300mm 4.5-5.6), two flashes, flash trigger, USB battery, travel outlet adapters, USB cables, iPod Classic, Lenovo ThinkPad X220 and charger, index cards, Moleskine journal, a Rode NT1-A, and a Shure X2U XLR to USB adapter. This bag is large enough to be heavy on long walks for me with its one strap, but it is also small enough to be more than portable in and out of public transportation. I probably need to look into some kind of sling pack or backpack for camera equipment, as well. This Lowepro bag looks quite enticing!
out of curiosity, can you slide the laptop into the hydration pocket if you aren't using a bladder?
Oh boy. All I want is a backpack to fit my mirrorless + 2 lenses as well as have enough space to pack in snacks and a some clothing on long hikes. I battled to get the right bag and the Lowepro Photo Sport 300 AW II seems to narrow my options nicely. Thank you for this great review, it helps alot!
Thank you for this great review!!!
This is a nice ultralight camera bag . One problem i ran into like most backpacks with a hydration bladder compartment behind the back. Once you put a full hydration bladder in it puffs out the back and rounds it making it uncomfortable to wear. I ended up putting the hydration bladder behind the camera core it worked alot better.
Awesome - all your requirements are mine as well - including holding my 15 MBP (sometimes). Thank you. I'm using a non-photo bag currently and not liking it.
I am looking for advice. I am 6'5" 200 lbs. Anyone have any idea if this bag would fit me comfortably? Thanks.
Lots of good information about the bag. It does sound like a good option if you want carry more than just your camera gear, Thanks.
great review! I purchased the 200, going to Japan for a week. I have 5dm3 hoping it fits. im not a tall guy and thought the 300 might be too big for me. cant wait to try it out!
really nice review ! Bravo!, do you know if this backpack can fit under a seat on a plane ? Thanks
Great video this will be my next bag.
Good review! I wasn't expecting the cartwheel lol. I have the same issue as you, I want to be able to do my outdoor sports but also want to take all the gear with me. This is the solution :D
Nice review! Very comprehensive.
Looks like they got rid of the clip strap on the bottom of the bag. I have the Photo Sport 200 I (not II) version and it has the clip strap for my tripod.
I have the LowePro Slingshot 202 AW bag. It's been a great camera bag the past 3 years for my gear. I am looking for a new bag since I've upgraded to the Nikon D750 with a 70-200mm, 50mm, and flash. That blue is calling my name.
I looked at this bag and then went for the Manfrotto Offroad 30L. Very similar bags but comfort wise the Manfrotto has the edge also camera compartment size. I don't think your Macbook would go in the same way. Thanks for the review, it's good there are some competitive choices out there.
Good for you!
please suggest a bag for nikon D850 mounted with the Nikkor 200-500 mm lens
hello!!! can you fit a sony a7iii+ 200-600? thanks!
I like your video. Is the 15" MBP at all fittable into the hydration sleeve?
Great video, should be the video highlight on the amazon and lowpro website. The guy didn't show as much as you did and I started to worry if I jumped the gun on a pack. I'm excited that it's blue which is my favorite color but I bought it for my drone adventures and as well as the bladder compartment, It looks like it'll make carrying my equipment easy for a day trek.
Can you travel with this bag? I mean without paying any extra fees? American Airlines are so strict, sometimes.
Do you think the 15inch laptop fits in the 200 sport backpack? :)
Nice bag... I'm using a Lowepro Flipside 400 AW backpack for my gear.
Great review, thanks. It has helped me to make a decision. What water blade do you use? It looks like 3 liter would not fit. Any recommendation to get maximum possibly?

This is what I have in mine... amzn.to/2xdP4FJ I don't think I can fill it up quite to 3 liters but the height works well. :)
Great review! Female 5'4 looking for similar bag. How about Tripods? Will it work with a 3.5 tripod?
I guess I will buy this back because of the reasons you mentioned. Yust need the money after buying my cam :-)
Does this pack open on both sides for two camera compartments or just one side?
Hi, great video! Please can you explain me how can you put a tripod with the straps? What extra accesories are needed to do this? I have a 21 1/2 inch tripod. Thanks!
@LeighAndRaymond

There is a small-ish pocket on the side that you could use depending on the dimensions of the tripod, or there are numerous straps and attachment points on the bag that could be used if you added some straps/rope/bungees. I hung my snowshoes from it a couple weeks ago by adding carabiners!
Thank you!
Great bag
Alright, loving the review, but the cartwheel just had me laughing. I usually take you so serious, but that was just amusing. Good review as well. Thank you.
Two questions: Can this back reasonably hold a non-compact tripod (I have a Mefoto Globetrotter than folds down to about 16")? Also, would the material separating the hydration compartment prevent my gear from getting ruined if there was a catastrophic failure (worst case scenario the breaks and all the water spills out)?
@LeighAndRaymond

There are a lot of ways you could attach the tripod - there are a ton of loops and such. I attached my snowshoes to it with carabiners and the included elastic bands! As for the water, I can't guarantee that it is completely separated but I have a water bladder that did leak a lot and my gear stayed dry. The water just pooled in the bottom of the water bladder compartment.

Thanks for the response!
Hi Very informative and entertaining video. Would you prefer manfrotto hiker off road backpack 30L or lowepro sport 300awii for ADV riding? Cheers

What are the major differences between those 2 packs?
Hello :-). Do you think it might fit inside a Crane 2? :)
sister, which drone you have????
Loved it than! Would the laptop fit in the hydration bladder spot?
I'd be curious to see what your thoughts are on this bag, a year later. Also, is it easy to fit a couple more lenses in the bag while hiking for landscaping photos?

I still love this bag. In the camera compartment, I have been able to fit the D810 with the 24-70 f/2.8 attached and the 70-200 f/2.8 detached. That fills up the compartment. However, I have been known to put other things in the top section. I have a padded camera insert bag that I stuff into the top sometimes when I'm traveling... kzread.info/dash/bejne/qoNrwbNqhcnSfto.html That will give you an idea of how much more gear will fit into the top. :)

TheSnapChick awesome! I’m def looking to make this my next purchase! Thanks!
:) good job , have fun...with your hobby !
Great review, thank you so much! But cant decide on 200 vs 300 lol.
I wish you could use the drone at Yellowstone, how epic would those shots be? Have a great trip, looking forward to seeing what you put together.
No about a Tripod? Where does that go? Looking for an all purpose bag myself - want it to be LIGHT, fit my camera/lenses, tripod, and clothes/food... this almost fits the bill - but I don't see any attachments for a tripod.
Anybody tried this with mountain biking? Please let me know your experience? Camera, Drone and Go Pro accessories along with water bladder ?
I've used the original Photo Sport 200 for about 5 years now and for sure it's my go to when I go hiking, running, biking, a long day walk downtown Mexico City, even sometimes without camera gear inside, it's that comfortable and dependable, the only issue, the only thing is that some of the clasps began to brake some months ago. By the way, you could fit the MacBook into the bladder compartment to keep it safer 🙂

what size macbook can you fit in?
I can't believe I only just found this review - your requirements are exactly the same as mine, including the 15" laptop; thank you so much for posting this review. In the 2 years since, have you found anything better? And what alternatives have you found in general, in particular for a taller person?

This bag is still great but take a look at the Atlas Athlete (my review- kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJ5_sKOEkavMh5M.html). It has more flexibility all-around and is just as comfortable.
Does it open from the back?
Hi, is it safe to run with a dslr and stabalized lense? I own a d600 and tamron 24-70 and would love to ru nwith it, but are afraid to damage it.

I haven't had any issues running with my gear but I do run fairly smoothly and I make sure everything is protected, like in a bag like this.

This is a great review. Especially for a lady it's always nice to know how a bag would fit a woman. I'm 5'8" so I think this will be perfect for me. I will be buying this bag! :)
I think you would love hiking in Romania.
Thanks for the informative review. How wide are the main arm/chest straps? Wondering if Capture by Peak Design will fit on straps? Best if strap is 2 3/4 inches wide or less. Thanks!

I’m wondering that too. Has anyone found out?
Altura Photo bag (Great Explorer Backpack) black and purple
Will it fit Nikon D7200 + Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens?
@LeighAndRaymond
6 жыл бұрын
Yes. However, the 70-200 f/2.8 only fits when it is detached from the camera body because of the length. :)
@Jontsu86
6 жыл бұрын
TheSnapChick Yes, i was meaning when the 70-200 is attached in to the body. But i know now.
I guessing, after watching for awhile, Raymond is your brother. Am I right?
9:26 Black is good.
Is this your nesting instinct kicking in?
Ok, it seems nice, with many storage options, but really... it doesn't have much space for gear.
@LeighAndRaymond
5 жыл бұрын
True. It carries some but this bag isn't for a lot of photo gear. I have since started using this bag, which has more capacity... kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJ5_sKOEkavMh5M.html
I bought the bag because of you! I like you. I want to go hiking with you!
Not much room for camera equipment though? I could just get a small camera bag and put it into a regular backpack for the same effect and lower price
Have you tried this backpack? www.thinktankphoto.com/products/ultralight-dual-25l
@LeighAndRaymond
4 жыл бұрын
I have not tried that. Regarding your other question, you can put a tripod in the side pocket of this backpack. I also have another pack that I use when I need to carry more stuff... kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZJ5_sKOEkavMh5M.html
I'm a bigger guy, and these bags are definitely not built for me lol
You are cute. Are you married?
Talk too much!
