Todd walks you through the differences between dimpled and non-dimpled handlebars. He talks about what to look for when picking a set of bars and how to determine if a handlebar will be right for your bike. Todd also goes over why there are two different size holes on your new set of grips and some inexpensive throttle tubes.

    What a cool guy... i just got my first bike in a long long time 30 plus years I would say, and I love the feeling of riding it. It’s got ape hangers and even though I like them I kind of want something lower but aggressive My bike is a 2004 Suzuki Volucia 800 What do you recommend? I want something badass

    I swapped the handlebars out on my CB750 for the first time last summer. Creating the switch wire holes with a hand drill and a dremel was a huge pain in the ass but I got it done. Do people really call and complain that the grips they ordered are different sizes? That's funny (and embarrasing). Sounds like something I would've done when I first started.

    How bout a video on risers that dont slip or how tos on how to stop apehangers from moving . I have seen some bagger clamps that have built in set screws, I need something like that for a softail that clamp where the top clamp is expose chromed and nice.

    Does your handlebar have knurling?

  • @yohon1550

    @yohon1550

    7 жыл бұрын

    Yes they do but they slip, I have 18 inch aps when I hit a bump, or when I try to push the bike around with the bars there is to much leverage. I would drill and pin them but all wires are inside the bars ,. This is a common problem I have read countless complaints. There are a number of micky mouse solutions out there but I would think some would make a set of risers or top clamps with a set screw built in. They do make top clamps with set screws but only for baggers that the clamp is hidden. I want one that chrome and looks nice.

  • @Bladsmith

    @Bladsmith

    Hm. Perhaps you could slip a piece of sheet metal inside the bar to protect the wiring while you drill two holes on it, then drill and tap short holes on the inside of the clamps to fit a small length of threaded rod? I don't know what exactly you meant by pinning, but this should do the same thing with nothing visible.

    i just purchased a new bike and the guy i bought it from put 24 in width handlebars on it. It is comfortable but i felt like slow tight turns seemed a bit more difficult than should be normally. He gave me the stock handlebars with it, however I am not sure if i should put those back on or not seeing how much of a difference it would really make. The new bars have an 8 in rise to them and the height is definitely comfortable.So do you recommend me just getting used to the narrow bars or would swapping it back to stock be better even though they are much lower? thanks
