Low Tide Shelling in Marco Island Florida. My secret spot that you can only get to at low tide!

Low Tide Shelling at South Beach on Marco Island is awesome! There is a little strip of beach that you can only get to at low tide for shelling. If you know anyone that happens to live in one of those very exclusive, gorgeous towers, please let them know we need to be friends.

Shark eyes are my five year old's favorite shells, he watches all of your shelling videos with me and loves identifying all of them! He was astonished at that humongous shark eye you found! @@SWFBeachLife believe it or not I am from Marco island. Well born in Naples raised on goodland spent much of my childhood on the beach in marco. My mom and aunt liked the south end because they could sunbathe topless (no tan lines haha) without worrying about anyone coming along. It was cool watching this. Took me all the way back. I was maybe 2 I think when we went down there once and my mom was getting some sun Santa I was climbing around in those rocks, made my way out a good way and I remember it clearly.. . I could see what I thought were more rocks of don't kind able they seemed to be moving. Swimming. I was looking at sting rays as it turned out. There were Dozens to put a loose conservative number on them but if I'm honest about it I think it was more like hundreds of them. My poor mother nearly died of heart failure scrambling over the rocks to grab me up... Funny how everything down in that little hidey-hole things look mostly the same. The island is unrecognizable in large part but there's still that one place that remains unchanged. .. from that place you would have had a view also of the lump. Pompano lump. When my mother passed last year we spread her ashes there and did some fantastic shelling. Or was pretty amazing.

@@HarmoniMcG What a story! I would have had a heart attack too if my kid was near all those rays! Of course I have seen the rays like that in the dozens (cow nose rays) and they are just gorgeous. The island is very, very built up, but the beaches are still gorgeous and I always look forward to spending time in that area. Thank you so much for sharing your story. I wish I could have seen what the area looked like back then.

It's such a great concentration of shells all pushed into one spot. It's awesome! Getting around that jetty can be a little perilous, but I've purchased a water proof backpack so I can pretty much swim around it if I have to 😅 I hope the next time you visit you find fantastic shells again! 🐚

There are some days when I pinch myself that I get to live here and share all the cool things I experience at the beach. And it amazes me that every time I pick up a shell I'm excited to see what it is and what condition it's in. I definitely have a shell-problem 😅 But hey, if you're going to have a problem, I think having an addiction to shells might be okay!

Hello from Ontario Canada (where we are beginning many months of cold and snow). Thank you for sharing your warmth and beautiful sunshine. I’m sure you know about Palm Beach, South East Florida. I watched a video from Solace In Shelling this afternoon and he was finding amazing shells. The shells were quite beautiful and some that I’m not sure if they are found on the beaches you show us. Just wanted to mention in case you might want to check it out. As always thank you for your videos, I wait every week. You are a delight and It’s wonderful how you identify every shell you find. I’ve learned so much from you. Take care, stay safe.

I watched one of his videos and made a bee-line over to John MacArthur state park, which is where I think he was. It was North Palm Beach and I found a lot of fabulous shells but nothing like that crazy awesome day he had. I will try it again next year after a storm. I would LOVE to find even half of the things he was finding!
