Ойын-сауық

Low Centre of Gravity (LCG) RC Crawlers are gonna be the next big thing! You heard it here first! Yes, I Love Them, and Yes, I will be building one! I'm sure a few of you have been running them for ages, but for me, this is a new concept...and I love the quality of some of the builds I've seen so far.

I think with so many other options for getting weight low down… you can be more ‘personal’ with wheel choices. There may also be some science behind a lighter wheel?? Less force needed to turn? I dunno 😅

Really awesome looking truck, Tomley! Really nice! 😃 You know, I started my rc history, let's say, watching people making their own stuff. With foam board or whatever they had on hand... Then I went to quadcopters... Where you can buy a ready to fly, but you can also build one yourself (and there's the most fun part for me!). So, with quadcopters you first chose the size. A 5" quad, for example. And there are hundreds of frames to choose from, a few motor sizes, but hundreds of brands (each with their own color and so on)... So, anyway, that's something I really miss in the rc cars world. It's a real shame. But that's why I liked the WPL stuff so much. Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

back in 2005 2007 era people were doing shockless lcg crawlers, the two main shafty styles were a piano wire chassis and a l channel aluminum chassis. both used torsion instead of shocks. and for moa axles they had a stick chassis which used on shock per axle. they were pretty crazy setups. they would probably still do pretty good especially with portal axles.

What you're seeing is the part that spins, you can see that in the rear view when it's crawling. It's called an outrunner, the other (regular) type is an inrunner. They're used a lot in model aircraft. The thin-ish outer casing carries the magnets and drives the pinion or propeller, while the part with the armature with connections is bolted to the frame.

Just think how good this thing would be with a steerable rear axle.

Also, now that I'm a couple minutes into the video, I must say. Portal axles do not belong on a belly dragger.

Great rig! Great footage! :) Why the steering dampener? Wouldn't a standard steering link be better to transfer the servo power to the wheels?

My c10 scx24 looks just like this. I thought I was just goody for cutting.up.my body like this. It runs so well though. Pulls at like 70° incline.

Is there anyone in the UK stocking RTR versions of a LCG rig? Or a shop there where you can get literally all parts to build one from scratch?
