Loving Food || The Market Garden In Victoria BC
As some of you know I'f been taking a film course on the side and one of the assignments was making a video about one idea. This store has always stood out for me and I really like place. Ryan the owner was kind enough to let me film his store and make this video. I know this is outside of my norm so some of you may appreciate it more than others. All that aside if your a foodie like me and your in the area this place is full of delicious ideas and fun treats.
The stores main focal point is the wide selection of chocolate from all over the world. I've never seen a collection like this. They have a canned seafood section that is full of inspiration and choices. Outside the back is a large garden space where they promote organic sustainable growing practices. Likewise the whole store is built upon the value of ethical sourcing both local and from afar. It's quite a place.

A bit about me:
My name is Joseph and I’ve been living full time in my minivan since late September 2019. Moving into a vehicle was a necessary change and adaptation which I needed to make. I was working though a difficult stage in my life and I felt like this would give me the break I needed to sort things out and rebuild. Along with this decision came an opportunity and new perspective on life, not to mention a real love and appreciation of nomadic living and living with less. So far it’s been quite a trip and I enjoy waking up each day feeling a bit more relaxed and strengthened from it.
I’m based out of British Columbia, Canada. I work primarily in the yoga industry, however my small business does branch into teaching yoga, outdoor education, project management, consulting and some hands on projects. Currently most of my work is undergoing a facelift as readjustments from the Covid-19 pandemic has necessitated a change. Work aside I love to get out into nature to explore wild places and often bring back wild food and medicines. I love foraging for plants & mushrooms, and of course hunting & fishing. I’m also keenly interested in self development, coaching and counselling, cooking and process foods, problem solving, exploring, building, learning, healing, teaching, and most of all, being a Dad. My goal here, is to share and build the journey with all of you and hopefully foster inspiration and elicit a positive change in the world.
The world is my playground, my school, my mother and certainly not mine.

Love Market Square!!!! I do hope you come back in the summer again Joseph! We do have some very cool spots here, truly I am blessed to be living here. Used to be called Oceanic Market, now completely revamped and is pretty darn cool, Catherine and Craigflower area.

This was delightful & so professional, Every bit of it! I loved it & the store! I would deffinetly find that store, from watching this video, if I was in the area on holiday. I wanted to tell you before but didn't take the time. I'm a retired Realtor. I have a huge marketing tip I think will help you. When we speak to an owner of a Residential dwelling, we refer to their accommodations as a "House." A house is just a physical place, an investment, with no emotional memories. When the client is a "Buyer" the accommodations they want to own, is a "Home." A place to live, enjoy life, make memories. As I watch your videos I see you've put so much effort into your van, enjoying life to the fullest while creating some amazing memories as you live & travel day to day. It's much more than a "House or Mini Van or Investment. Your van is a "Home, not a House." Just a tip from a Retired Real Estate Pro. Use as you see fit, or not. Best wishes & thanks for posting. What an absolutely delightful market! I really miss taking the ferry for a long day trip or two to Victoria. I always used to go this schmancy hole in the wall burger/sandwich joint called "The Pink Bicycle". Seriously the best truffle fries and portabella burger I've ever eaten. Thanks for sharing!

I love store like this one because I can 'feel' the love from the owner of the food they are selling. Maybe it is just me but this type of store show how much they appreciate food around the world and of course from the local too! Price will be a bit higher than the broad major chain stores but I wish there are more stores like this one~ ❤ Thanks for bringing this to use, now I can't wait to see their garden later this year :D

Another most excellent video! I don't think I've ever seen all those products in one location-separate stores, but never all in one place. I'd be hard pressed to make buying decisions without spending the entire day there.

Upscale markets are fun to visit and get some really good food. I try to do that near me once in a while. Your food storage idea is the old root cellar. The piano playing can be found in area hospitals here. Big cities have their gems tucked away to find. I'm glad to see yours.
