NC doesn't mean non-con in this context! It's another way of saying adult/love scenes. NC = No Children like how some programs are rated NC-17. Of course, these NC scenes can contain non-con as several BL shows have those aspects.

@@amrier3685 The particular scene he was writing is where the one was forcing himself on the other. Which many refer to as romantic cuz they know both characters like each other - but at the end, it's still harassment- that why. And in a lot of thai bl novels - not series (cuz they don't talk about the sex a lot) the are quite a few times the seme forces himself on the uke - even when they like each other / or like their first time. 1 clear example is 2gether the series - Sarawattine's first time. Sarawat hurt Tine a lot to the point he was bleeding and sick for a few days. Sarawat was inexperienced, didn't look up properly and had the worst tutor on gay sex (Who said it'll hurt the other person and they may bleed - but just go on with it). None of what happened was romantic in any way.

It's cuz Gene is writing a bl novel - so I have to use the same as a comparison. I don't know if you have read the 2gether novel, but in ep 10 where they show Sarawat asking Tine "tonight, can I" - they are referring to sex and in the novel - that was their first time. Idk, but cuz 2gether is for 13+ they didn't explicitly mention whether they had sex or not but it's just assumed. Obviously, in the novel - everything is written in detail. Where in many scenes rape or dubcon is romanticized. This is what Gene doesn't want to write about mainly.

I think kiss and sex scenes are not necessarily needed as long as the plot is great! (Lets look at 2gether + a thousand stars....) Really love how the series depicts the struggles of BL industry. i agree, i usually drop some bl stories and webtoons because of lack of consent and unnecessary sex scene but unless the plot revolves around some sexual activities (of course, with consent) like if the story is about a sex worker or a camboy (ex. bj alex). sex scenes is also used in shows that portray real life problems such as sexual harassment, rape or forcing (ex. killing stalking, it shows some physiological horror stuff in it) but it was never meant to be romanticized.

2gether is literally one of the best series and it dosen't have too much of NC scenes. They have the best chemistry and lovey dovey scenes. We almost die because of the cuteness, too much to handle. A lot of NC scene dramas can never bring that chemistry

I'm a bl writer and I don't write smut while most readers want and ask me for smut. So this just hit differently. He shouldn't be forced to do something he doesn't want to!

But yeah in Chinese their story line, scenes, background, dialogues are on top level... They really make masterpieces... They don't need intimate scenes for attracting viewers.... Lan Wangji's one look to Wei Wuxian is more beautiful than any kiss and their fights under the moonlight is more adorable than any intimate scene so as WKX and Ah Xu in word of honor....

Same, I think it was actually warranted here, the level of concern and care Sib had. At 6:54 that's the moment you realize; oh, this isn't just a crush or infatuation, Sib's 100% in love with Gene.

If Gene is this uncomfortable writing nc-17 scenes he shouldn't be forced to write them. There's nothing wrong with those scenes. I personally love them but if the author doesn't like them to this extent they don't need to be in the book. Teen novels exist for this reason anyway.

Thing is... it’s not just about not wanting to write nc-17 scenes. It’s about how he doesn’t want to write a scene where there’s no verbal consent. He doesn’t want to write a scene that is sexual harassment since he doesn’t want to romanticize it like a lot of BL novels, series and movies have. That’s the main point: not romanticizing sexual harassment

the bowl cut lady is a representation of the fujoshis who watch bl only for the nc scenes personally i think a bl doesn’t need to have so many nc scenes to be a good drama. a tale of a 1000 stars for example is going beautifully yea it would be nice if we got maybe one kiss but it’s not all about that it’s more about the chemistry the actors have and how well they can play their characters. i have to admit i was once like bowl cut lady but i learned to be better

That was some nightmare Gene was having about writing his BL novel for his manic editor Bua, nor is it surprising, given the pressure she's put him under, but rescue was as at hand with the tender ministrations by the ever caring Nubsib. Notice how after he put his hand on Gene's he began to calm down and by the time Nubsib was sitting on the floor gazing at him, Gene had developed a sort of beatific smile.

Yo me metí al mundo del BL por light on me y era solo de ver BL coreanos donde no habían escenas Hot y aún así los veía porque ne gustaban sus historias, cuando me metí al BL Tailandes descubro que en el BL hay muchas series con escenas Hot xd

i am absolutely loving this series! The scene where Nubsib takes care of Gene is so beautiful. The starting scene with Aey is just amazing. No dialogues and just emotions that came through so perfectly. Kudos to the actors! They're doing an amazing job.

Between 6:00 and 9:30 is beautiful. Not one word used to express how much he adores Gene. The fear and worry on his face is something else. This is done so beautifully. Just how long has he loved Gene?

Es horrible cómo Gene está sufriendo seriamente al escribir algo de lo cual no siente atracción y creo que incluso ha llegado a odiar al ser forzado a escribir cosas que no quiere. Como autor y escritor, creo que es una de las peores cosas que puedes vivir, ser obligado a imaginar, crear y escribir algo con lo cual no estás cómodo.

I love how obviously into each other they are. I feel that in other BLs it's very common for one of the MCs to pester/annoy the other although the other MC rejects their advances. It's so refreshing to see respectful characters

Me watching Nubsib watching Gene who’s in a deep sleep for 10 minutes is exactly the quality content I signed up for

You know what is cool? Kao and Up are actually the same age. Kao is even 3 months older. And still Nubsib feels so much younger than Gene. And that’s all on good acting.

man.. the whole scene where Nubsib took care of Gene was so adorable, you could tell that he was truly worried and it didn't have that "pretending to take care, slowly rubbing the towel only for fan service" cringey aspect

The funniest thing about the “bottoming” research part is how accurate it is. If you write fiction and know nothing about that stuff you are 100% researching it in all seriousness to emulate it in your writing more realistically. Or at least you probably should be to give those reading it realistic expectations.

The scene of gene and bua. It's make me cried a bit. How struggle for a writer to achieve what their reader want even tho, their don't like it huhu

I'll take Nubsib lovingly taking care of a sleeping Gene over a steamy scene any day of the week ❤️ True love over smut🍋

So far the series is so good it deserves more recognition

I just started watching part 2 part but I gotta give a nod to Aey for being mature enough to mute an account with a tweet he disliked whether than typing a hate tweet in reply. And Bua is back even stronger with her NC scenes obsession...thai bl series and novels in a nutshell 🤦🏾‍♀️. Sometimes less is better Madame editor in chief 👉 looking at The Untamed.

I love how this series is making all the right points and adressing both sides 👏👏

Me encanta esta serie , he visto muchas series en las que solo se concentran en escenas hot hay ciertas veces en la que se sobrepasan y se vuelve una violación pero en esta serie se respetan mutuamente , amo la manera en la que expresan casa escena es atrapante , pero lo más importante es que gene habla hacerca del acoso cosa que muchos no lo hacen y lo toman como contenido y muchos llegan a shippear cuando debería ser todo lo contrario en fin esta serie merece un Oscar

I had to pause the video to give it a thumbs up because I am LOVING this series! Not only is the plot fresh, but it actually is taking the time to flesh out the “boring” scenes where the actors ACTUALLY get to act. There were like 5 minutes straight without any dialogue and relied ENTIRELY on the actors facial and physical acting. I’m sure I’m not the only one who craved real acting from Thai BLs like we get from Taiwanese and Chinese BLs. I’m over the moon with the series we have been given this year like 1000 stars and Lovely Writer. I cannot wait for the Thai BL dramas to flourish in both cinematography and acting. High praises to the Lovely Writer team! !

This just show how there are people who are not a fan of bl or they don’t like bl story but they still do it for the money, which I think it messed up cuz it’s not fair to the actors and the fans or ppl who are actually part of the lgbtq community. Did y’all know that same sex couple can not get marry in Thailand but they are the ones who makes the most bl series, I just think that’s really selfish and unfair. I think it’s really ignorant to write a series or a book about bl series that you are against just bc it’s your job or bc you are pressured into doing it. Sometimes when I watch Korean bl series I feel like the writers or directors don’t really care about the fans or the lgbtq ppl, they only care about the money bc right now bl is very popular so every country wants to be part of it. Don’t get me wrong, Korean ppl makes great bl series but I mean what is the point of making a series that have like 8 episodes with each episode only 15-20 minutes long. It don’t make sense bc there are a lot of straight Kdrama with like 16- 20 episodes with each episode being 1 hour long but when it come to bl they always make it short.

I get you point..but the things is koreans aren't actually ready to embrace series with longer epi...and short series are actually better when it comes to starting.. And koreans arent new to making bl ..infact there are so many korean lgbtq movies.. But when it comes to series i dont think most ppl there are ready to accept them as you know there are still so many conservative people who dont accept such series...

Korean directors are trying to show how bl dramas with "happy ending "😅 can do well in drama world. Koreans are very conservative about it. They'll never easily accept a full length drama. You know how Knetizens are. They will make a big deal about it . So k directors are making these web dramas to make it popular among them. There are many dramas who have lgbtq stories. Most have sad ending which portrays reality but there is happy ending drama too. Watch love with flaws. It have happy ending and they are side couple. But sadly one of the actor did suicide . I think that time that drama was ongoing too. I don't know reason but I hope he is in a better place now, better than this cruel world.

Exposing the whole industry lol, I personally love BLs that have a good story line and serious topics like Not Me, and again just like in Not Me plus Unforgotten Night consent was a heavy thing and it makes every scene 1000% hotter

Man! I never knew this how writers felt in BL industry where they are forced writing NC scenes when they don't want to. This episode clearly showed the misery and mental stress writers are going through when their editor want NC scenes not true love scenes. I have watched alot of BL series and never knew what's behind closed doors of these BL series. It's really opened up my eyes to see the dark sides of BL industry and how they treat writers unfairly 😔. To me, I never really cared about if there's a NC scenes or not because all I really care about is good storyline and true love. Having those two in the series what's makes a show really amazing. Plus they show about what's REAL LOVE is really all about! It's not always about sex because that's not love, that's lust. I love that this series is addressing the issues about this.
