Nemophila started as a f...ricking _session_ band. How "outrageous" is _that_ , please? They came together to rehearse a few project songs for the singer (Mayu), and then sort of "exploded" into vibe, creativity and joy. 😄Simply u n b e l i e v a b l e. Like a match made in heaven. I think, that they were _meant_ to play together. Let's just relish their joy and music as long as we possibly can. 😊💮

Nemophila is specifically a 5 petaled flower - 1 petal for each band member, hence the band name. They were in New York on March 20th 2023, but currently have no plans to return.

It is a genus of flower populated mostly by various species of "baby blue eyes." It is native to North America (like rock and roll) but popular in Japan (like rock and roll). Every spring the hills of Hitachi Seaside Park in Japan turn blue with Nemophila flowers. It's a perfect name for them.

I agree, not overly sexualized. They can play, and that's what I enjoy. They are the real deal...but I do appreciate Mayu's shorts in this one.

They had their 1st US tour earlier this year. Only 8 stops but they did stop on the east coast in NYC. I attended after only discovering them on youtube 2 days prior and OOHMYGAHHHHH That live show was straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!! One of the best concerts I've been to this year!

Mayu's growls are getting better and better, especially her low growls. She can go noticeably lower now than when the they first started. Hell, the whole band is getting better and better. 🤘

You are not too old. I'm 60 and just saw Band-Maid back in June and they were probably the best live show I have ever seen. Now I'm waiting for Nemophila to come to my neck of the woods. Never thought I'd get my old school rock from all these ladies in Japan. Keep rockin' fellas!!

When a band has fun, I have fun. These women always put the biggest smile on my face. I chased them around the US this past year and will go to at least one show in Japan next year. Although, I’m going to need to work on my frequent flyer miles. They have not announced any plans for tours past February in Japan; yet. However, their third original album, “Evolve,” is scheduled for release in January (I believe). I hope they come back to the US, or Europe next year as they have gained many new fans this year. ❤️🌸

You lucky one!

Only found Nemophila just before Christmas this year. Was totally blown away! The first song I heard was "Monsters" which has a section of harmonizing lead guitars that totally reminds me of Queensryche (one of my all-time favorites) and their dual leads. It literally brought a smile to my face. Watching them play it is a treat. Since then I've listened to everything Nemophila I can find. There isn't a bad song to be found. Hope they make it back to the states soon.

Zen is my #1 song tied with Rollin Rollin. Love Revive as well. I saw them in NYC last spring and it was amazing! I was 2nd row in front of Haraguchi-sun (bassist). The sound coming out of her amp was hitting me in the chest like a hammer!

I saw them live back in March 2023 in NYC, Grammercy theater, they blew the roof off that house, they were PURE fire. TAMU really is a POWERFUL little drummer, the entire band was just firing on all cylinders all night, if you get a chance to see them perform LIVE, you MUST go, they are so awesome. one of the best bands I have ever seen live....fantastic.

Nemophila are amazing live, saw them back in March in San Francisco. They did play at the Gramercy in NYC on the same tour. No word on a 2024 US tour yet, but I'm hoping they come back.

Wait, wait... I absolutely love Nemophila (my favorite band!) but you're talking about BAND-MAID, Nemophila and HANABIE but no mention of Lovebites? They are another all-female Japanese Powermetal band oozing with talent. Perhaps check out their song Judgement Day, official live is best, but official MV is just as good.

Nemophila is the band I just hav3 to catch live. I have seen Jinjer, Band Maid and Hanabie and they totally kicked ass only Nemo remains to have to be seen for me. Was planning the trip to NYC last year but got crushed on taxes. Regardless just wait until you see Oiran live, their 1st song and still my favorite.

For me personally, both are comparable in terms of their qualities. In my view, Lovebites offer rather "arty" and symphonic Metal and live shows, whereas Nemophila are rather "punky". I _love_ both bands, both of them reign my playlist - together with Iron Maiden (my favorite band for story-telling and sort of "theatrical" Metal).

Nemophila is my happy place.

Their show in L.A. was fucken nuts!!! Best show I’ve ever been too. Hands down!

The thing that is awesome about seeing these bands live is the crowd is older more respectful people that hang out outside the venue like friends even if you don’t know anyone it’s a cool group of people that a lot go to see the different bands and you will see the same people. It’s like a family, some people follow these bands around the country trying to go to as many shows as possible. Not many young people were there but I think more young people are discovering them. All of these bands that y’all have been checking out should be coming back at so time next year. Some have already committed to festivals in the US and will probably tour around some while over here. Check their band pages for tour dates and other news, they are awesome and deserve more recognition so thank you for reacting to these great bands plus there are many more that are really great also.

As you have liked both Nemophila and Hanabie I think Saiseiga are a band that will probably work for you.

They are fire. Wait till you see Lovebites (out of Japan as well). if you like old school metal vibes.. Lovebites is the best metal band today.Saw Nemophila in L.A. last year and they are awesome.

Well, they've been to the U.S. three times (I saw them once) so they will most likely be in your niehgborhood before long. But you have to move fast, they play small venues and sell out fast.

You have to check out "Oiran" from the same concert. They have a video of it on their KZread channel as well. It's one of their heaviest songs and it's so good

Well I certainly feel rested and at peace ✌️. Funny that you should mention Metallica as NEMOPHILA are renowned for their covers and have just released an EP of their last 4 covers plus a new song of their own and it includes Master of puppets. They have covers of a lot of my favourite bands and songs including Lovebites and SHIMI. As for not being oversexualised the drummer has 2 kids and the singer has one so I guess thay need to think about what their children will be seeing in 10 years. Have you ever heard of DOGMA? They are nuns. Check them out. Forbidden Zone or Father I have sinned. As for being old BAND-MAID fans especially outside of Japan are very often older people and you would be perfectly safe. Keep going with BAND-MAID and NEMOPHILA there's plenty more good times to come. 🇦🇺 Australia is watching 👀

One of the reasons we love these bands so much is exactly what you just said--they don't need to head-fake us with all the tits and ass like American pop stars. They can just play, and in fact they can play circles around most of the dudes.

Nemophila are awesome!, A few months ago they played Zen and had Yukina from Hanabie. come out and sing it with Mayu! Love the reactions! cant wait to see more, hope you revisit Hanabie. also.
