And THAT is how to start a concert. Re. signature models--this concert was before Miyako's signature model came out. She uses it in later performances and you can't miss it--it's a flaming red flying-V with a great beefy tone. I think Midori's signature model came out after this concert as well.

That song is a banger. Love that one. I keep coming back to it. It's the perfect show opener too. Has a little bit of a teaser of everything. Other songs give you more range from Asami, longer guitar solos, guitar harmonies, piano, bass solo etc. This one just comes out with all that energy and bangs it out of the park.

Miho was inspired by Slayer to write this song. Also, Miyako is the only one with a signature guitar (Dean V), Midori and Miho play off the shelf Japanese ESP's

Please do not compare them to any other group because they are so above all ! I have said it to other reactors: I am 70 years old and I have NEVER, seen anything or heard anything as talented as LOVEBITES. 5 individual level talents gathered in one group that only happens every 20 years and again.

When we compare to other bands, it's for both a frame of reference, as well as exploring possible influences. In no way is it meant to diminish the band, but for us to understand them better. We don't look up information about the bands that we react to, because we want to experience them in our own way. Part of that is hearing passages and relating them to things we have already heard. For us it is fun to try to figure out what bands influenced another band, seeing what inspired them, and what they have done with that inspiration.

Everyone knows the guitarists are perfection and Asami's voice has such incredible range....but Haruna on the drums is an absolute demon.

I ordered a shirt from their official international store. The pandemic has made shipping more expensive. The shirt ended up costing about 65 dollars with all the shipping fees. Was shocked by how fast it arrived to Ohio. Took less than a week. Will definitely be buying more in the future. Absolutely love the shirt. Sizing is true. I ordered xl because I was worried about it being too small. Should have ordered the large.

A lot of people when they first start being exposed to Lovebites think they are just a power metal band since those are their singles but they also do some of the best thrash songs out there today. Break the Wall, The Hammer of Wrath, Set the World on Fire, and Paranoia besides Thunder Vengeance are all great thrash songs. It was usually Miho that would write those but Asami actually wrote Paranoia on Glory, Glory to the World and it's just as hard as the other ones. Miyako doesn't actually wear much of a heel for her shoes. If she did she would be about six inches taller than Haruna.

Banger is a very apt description. Love the lighting in this as well.

Though I never* copy/paste comments, I had written this earlier today on another Thunder Vengeance 'reaction': "In the beginning, the different color wolf heads over the moon represent the band members, purple for "Natural Born Head-Banger" Miho, orange for "little BIG Engine" Haruna, blue for "The Golden Touch" Miyako, red for "The One And Only Voice" Asami & green for "Crazy Shredder" Midori (which means 'green' in Japanese). They come together to form LOVEBITES and the wolf heads are embedded in the golden pentagram, a "Golden Destination" and symbol of protection. This concert celebrates their CD "Electric Pentagram" released 3 weeks previous. Their intent, to protect Heavy Metal from darkness and obscurity. You see Miho singing along, as they are her words she wrote, inspired by watching Slayer from side-of-stage at Download Festival 2019. Miho also wrote the music, in collaboration with friend-of-band, keyboardist Mao. "In The Beginning" is now the title of their first 'best of' double-CD collection, now on order as bundle packs with shirts, and separately, earliest logo shirt re-prints, that were only sold at the venue of their first ever LIVE as "LOVEBITES" on November 18, 2016. All LOVEBITES songs are worthy, so all suggestions are supported. I suggest "Today Is The Day" @ from the just released "Heavy Metal Never Dies" show. I think the Nazareth song was named Love Hurts, not Love Bites - And there's also Love Bites by Judas Priest as well, so, not every Love Bites before Lovebites was bad 😁 The Halestorm song that inspired them to pick the name wasn't bad as well.

OH NO!! It was too!! I even had the name of the song wrong. I have out done myself, haha. 😂😂Halestorm is FANTASTIC. I still want to see Halestorm tour with Alestorm, and call the tour, The Perfect Storm Tour.

Miyako, the brunette guitarist, mainly plays her signature Dean V, a Dean Switchblade ML, or as in this song, her Dean USA Icon. She also occasionally uses a Gibson Les Paul and Explorer, a G&L Stratocaster (the body is a start body, but I don't know its actual name), a blue Infinite Stratocaster, and some others that I'm likely forgetting. She loves highly-visible wood grain on her guitars; the Infinite Stratocaster is the only one without it. She should totally come over and marvel at my Atari 2600. In her old Sonic Lover Reckless side project that died as quickly as it began but produced a pretty sweet video, she played a S7G (Strictly-Seven Guitars) seven-string Cobra. Miho plays ESP Amaze bass guitars. Sometimes they're AS (ash body), sometimes they're ASM (ash body/maple top, I think). They're usually blue except for when they're black. The custom polka dot pick guards were custom made for her (by her, maybe?) in late 2019. As for blonde Midori, she plays ESP E-II Horizon guitars in "reindeer blue" or black. The black one is used when she needs to go with dropped d tuning. Midori has a white Horizon as well, but I'm not sure if she's used it live. She uses an gorgeous ESP Arrow for "Winds of Transylvania," and in older videos she uses a white ESP E-II FRX. There's a seven-string white ESP E-II FRX that was on display somewhere that Midori has used at some point, but I don't know when. Midori and Miyako have built their own guitars, too. Miyako has used her own unbranded Telecaster like during "Dancing With the Devil" from the "Five of a Kind" show, and she shows off the others she's built in a video on her channel. In the same song, Midori used her red GCA (ESP's *g*uitar *c*raft *a*cademy). I don't know if Midori has built other guitars. I'm not going to go into anyone's amps and cabs. Haruna, the drummer, plays Pearl drums and Sabian cymbals. She also makes miniature food out of clay. It's adorable.

I often wonder when people recommend Thunder Vengeance for a reactor, they do not give some back ground first. Fortunately, you worked out the thunder and lightning, you would be surprised how that part goes over many reactors head. Even better, you worked out the wolf symbols representing the five members of Lovebites but you did miss the meaning of the pentagram symbol which is the cover for their album called Electric Pentagram. The Lovebites lady's loose the Sargent Pepper jackets after this opening song. How Haruna plays the drums in the jacket is amazing as hers seem particularity tight. Thank you for your reaction.

That is a very good point, that jacket would be hard to play drums in. Anything restricting you from putting your arms over your head would cause a problem.

You're close on the Hangar 18/Metallica influence. Miho (the bassist) wrote this song after seeing Slayer on stage at Download festival in 2019.

Another excellent reaction! Friendly neighborhood guitar geek again. Miyako did have her Dean "V" custom built at Dean USA, and they did release a signature model for her based on that one. But in this video, she's playing a standard Dean USA Icon. Midori has that Arrow that she uses in some songs (like "Winds of Transylvania") that she built herself through ESP's Guitar Craft Academy. As far as I know, that guitar wasn't released as a signature series. But I could be wrong. They might have released a signature line only available in Japan that I'm not aware of. But for the stage, she really favors her standard ESP E-II Horizons: The blue one for standard tuning and the black one for drop D. You may well be right about Miho's bass being a signature though.

It is a USA Icon that Dean made until recently. They're no longer in production (looked at one once, but couldn't afford the $3000 price tag). But you're right in that hers is no longer "standard" in that she modified it. Coincidently, as I type this, I'm doing the same thing to a '99 Ibanez RG520 inspired by that very video!

Ron Foster are you throwing Fishmans into the RG 520? If so, post a video of It! If I remember right, the RG520 has a double coil pickup towards the neck, a single in the middle, then another double coil at the bridge. I'd try it on my RG565, but Fishmans are expensive and it only has the one double coil at the bridge.

I'll see if I can record a video this evening and post it. The RG520 is the model that has two humbuckers, no middle. Yes, Fishmans are expensive. I used Seymour Duncan AHB "Blackouts".....so not exactly like Miyako's. Is your RG565 one of the original '90s models, or one of the newer Genesis Collection models?

tia carrera - one of the first things i thought of too. but much cooler. another reactor called her chrissy teigen with talent. once again midori rules. i have been waiting for almost 5 years for LOVEBITES merch on amazon usa and we can conclude it ain't gonna happen. it's dumb because they could sell a ton here. amazon has offered a full range of BAND MAID stuff in that same period and i have 5 tshirts - all awesome - at about 20 bucks apiece. overseas is the only way to get LOVEBITES stuff and be prepared to have many items not available. their handlers need to get on the stick
