This band LIVE and this concert in particular will save your sanity until we can all get back to LIVE shows hopefully soon!!! This band has gotten so much better LIVE since their appearance at Wacken 2018, especially Asami who has really become a great front person and improved her LIVE vocals tremendously. If you want to be really blow away try Swan Song ( kzread.info/dash/bejne/kYiBk9CMgJrVlLQ.html) from this concert and watch Miyako go from concert pianist to shredder back to concert pianist during the song. These women have some much talent and lest we forget the 4' 8" dynamo drummer, Haruna who is always flawless as she drives these songs from start to finish!!!

Great to see you back on Lovebites, Sean! The whole Five of a Kind blu-ray is absolutely phenomenal. Midori gave some lucky fans one-on-one guitar lessons over the weekend just passed, lucky sods! And Miyako does paid lessons on a regular basis. She's also started updating her own KZread channel again: kzread.info/dash/bejne/oZ-srs6NqaXTZsY.html Pleeease can you check out the new Nemophila video for their second single, RAITEI. They're another all-female band, something of a supergroup - kzread.info/dash/bejne/npxhxriFe7OZYZc.html Cheers!

One thing I found interesting is that Miyako chose the middle finger for a deep bend. Conventionally, a guitarist would choose the ring finger for that. Midori seems to have the more "classic" shredder technique. I've wondered if it's Miyako's classic piano training that influences her guitar technique. Oh, and just as a heads up, fancams do exist of Misa having a tapping call and response with Kanami.

Thanks you for your reaction. The more people who react to Lovebites the better. Hopefully, through KZread, they will become as popular as Band Maid.

@@ShaunStackhouse It was KZread views of Band Maids MV Thrill, that saved them from giving up, so I have read somewhere. Lovebites, have been promoted by DragonForce in the UK and they toured for a while with Dragonforce and even did a weird collaboration song. Covid, has really struck at the wrong time for them as they can not get out and actively promote Electric Pentagram.

Lovebites are the best band out there right now. If you haven't seen Signs of Deliverance from Zepp 2020, then do so. Spoiler alert: catwalk, overhand tapping, dual guitars. The difference between Band-Maid and Lovebites isn't the talent it is genre (Ok, Lovebites ladies are a bit more talented). Hard Rock is more acceptable than power/trash metal they play. Band-Maid and Scandal are more popular in Japan too. Aldious has more of melodic power metal and they are out there for a decade. The new band that is gaining popularity is Saki's (Mary's Blood) Nemophila. You should check them out if you haven't. As for tapping Misa from Band-Maid does it, as well as Tomomi from Scandal, though not in their recorded songs as far as I can tell. Someone mentioned the two Guys from Kami Band and Asterism (should check that mixed group). Both play 8 string bass. Miho is such an underrated bassist, she is actually one of the best. Just she doesn't really care to showcase that and simply enjoys what she is doing and the whole experience with the band. I won't go into 4'11 Haruna the energizer bunny drummer, because there are no words to describe her.

There are at least two other Japanese bassists who tap, and they actually do it a lot: Boh, from Kami Band (Babymetal) and Miyu Yoshinaka (Asterism). And as far as Metallica having the same intensity, Ok, but they never had two true lead guitars. Clone Kirk Hammett and then maybe they're as good as this.

If he wants to see tapping then Asterism Stars LIVE (kzread.info/dash/bejne/fop9rKihdpmegMo.html) is where he can indulge as Miyu and Harauka both tap the hell out of their guitars in a small venue in Beijing, China. Miyu does it with a 6, 7, and I think even 8 string base at various times.
