A Grammy worthy performance from Diana Ankudinova and the composer of the song, Brandon Stone. Diana, in a recent interview, said she contributed to the lyrics and worked in collaboration with Brandon. Been collaborating together for approximately 5 years. He first heard Diana when she was 12 years old. He wrote a Folk song for Diana called, As Your Voice and debuted at one of his concerts. She was 16 years old. @@bignickreacts someone has probably already said this, but Brandon wrote this for Diana. He is like her 'big brother' musically. I thought maybe at one time they might be romantically linked, but I was told in no uncertain terms I was wrong. Where have you heard her hit a higher note? I was overcome the first time I heard it. She has worked so hard to establish herself as more than a "gimmicky" singer. She has won me over that's for sure. She is in my top four of women vocalists, maybe top five with So Hyang in there with Morissette, Angelina Jordan and Daneliya Tuleshova, my favorite being Daneliya who just has magic in her voice. I'm amazed some Russians still have this totally misplaced regard for the situation in the West. If all Diana wanted was enormous numbers of fans she'd be better looking at the Chinese and Indian markets. Our Americanophile commentator is partly right though. Diana appears to want to master all the skills of her profession but with the aim to better create works of art.

⁠​⁠​⁠​⁠@@dreamok732 The essence of your comment is correct, however I think the original commenter is talking about more generally widespread recognition rather than a huge number of fans concentrated in one or two countries (India and China as you said). English is currently the international “default” language, for lack of better term, so she would be able to communicate with people across many parts of the world. It would certainly be great if she could learn more than just English, of course. I think Spanish would benefit her a lot too, it would give her greater access to much of Central and South America where we know there are already a lot of interested fans. Although it’s probably a little unrealistic to ask her to become a polyglot in addition to being one of the best singers in the world 😆
