Great version. It's Ringo revisiting a song with a history very troubled for him. Maybe a catarse. I think the original version (in the 1962' single) is not only good - it is The Beatles version. The version in the Please Please Me album, with Andy White on drums and Ringo on maracas (or tambourine, I can't remember) is maybe better produced, but is the George Martin study about this song. As Ringo said, he forgives George Martin every morning for that.

Yet another example why Ringo will always be remembered as the Beatle with no talent whatsoever. Not a shred. He will forever be eclipsed by his brilliant band mates.

He didn't record the orginal. Held a grudge for ever over it. that's why he re-recorded it.
