What a beautiful piece of art. Hoffman was so talented. Great story about loss and how we all process it differently. 4 stars

We had this on DVD in rehab. I'm an alcoholic whose wife had just died and I've been in radio controlled vehicles since 88.

@@holisterbruxly4554 yeah he's still got some loose screws in that brain after huffing all that gas lol but I feel like it was the movie's way of showing that he was finally letting go and being free, in his own gas junkie way. The house burning and him walking away from it all... After he reads the letter there is a feeling of relief that she lives on and "talks to him" from his heart, but she gives him permission to continue on and find another. Idk, when I first watched this I felt like it was a perfect film. I kinda like when things are a little open ended and left up to our own interpretation and I don't know how else it would've ended. It's my favorite movie as of right now. It feels surreal and darkly comedic, even goofy with some of Philip's performance, but I also find it to be really beautiful.
