Yes! I do the same if I’m tempted. Sometimes I get spendy if work is stressing me out or if I am worried about FOMO. Touching and packing my purses or organizing and cleaning them helps me convince myself that I don’t need them. I also get overwhelmed w too much.

Have fun with this decision, nothing is dangerous..just price per wear. I can relate that careful thinking is good thing..but keep it easy. Life is good and you do make great decisions. Do what makes life easy for you not just glamorous..all the bags are good. No luster issue, you know your real needs. No one bag is going to do it all. Cross body and totes hold different places in our collection. Separate by those categories, then look at your grouping. 25 and 35 Speedy are totes, why original designs did not have straps

If you rewatch your video, I think you’ve answered your question as to whether or not the SB20 is necessary 😊 And, if u do decide to purchase, the strap does look awkward. It looks better on the larger Speedy @MarquitaLVluxuty demonstrates this in one of her vids.

I can and I appreciate your thoughtfulness about not over-consuming.

I'm on team don't get the new Speedy B20. Getting it would mean the one you typically grab in place of the Speedy BB when you want to go out would now sit on the shelf/box. Like you said, it's not limited edition, therefore you have time to see if it's something that you really want to add your collection :) Love your collection and your thought process, sure whatever you end up deciding will fit your wants/lifestyle.

I can completely relate to your process. Over the last couple of years I've been more mindful of trying to downsize in different categories: bags, clothes, home decor, kitchen ware, etc. And like you, I get overwhelmed when I have too much stuff. I think your process is great and, as you say being able to afford something isn't an automatic green light to buy the item. I'll conclude at times that I'd rather have the money than the item I'm obsessing over. Waiting (as you're doing) is a good strategy to keep from buying items we might later regret, etc.

Going through your bags, I think I agree with you that it seems like you already have a great collection with several options so there's kinda no point in getting the new Speedy B20 besides the new print and that it's new and shiny. Especially since it's not LE you'll have lots of time to continue to think about it while you're using your current collection. If in a couple of months, you still cannot get it out of your mind then maybe go through your thought process again and bite the bullet and get it.

I love your process. I need to do more appreciating of what I already have.

I love how thoughtful you are about your purchases! I think it’s a good idea to appreciate and use what you have and see if maybe the Speedy 20 calls to you later. By then they may even come out with a regular strap since it’s been pretty polarizing. I’m going to wait too and let the hype calm down before I consider it. I’m in no rush and I too would like to appreciate what I have as well.

I’m with you! When I want to buy… I re-arrange my whole bag collection. It helps me appreciate what I have. I touch n feel them n this time I took a liking to my LV2 Nigo trio. I never used it! Now I’m using the large pouch and guitar strap n loving it! That trio was something like $2300 for four pieces. It’s hard for me to justify the DE 20 price I think.

I really appreciate how you share your thought process with us! Maybe you can go back to the store a few more times with different outfits/styles and see if you still like it as much as the first time you saw it.

On second thought maybe you have enough of bags to last you a lifetime. When is enough enough? Just enjoy what you have. But sometimes maybe you overthink things? Anyway my 2 cents worth. I love your collection.

I do the same thing when I’m thinking of buying a new bag. I “play” with the others first to decide if I want to spend/sell etc. I joke while my daughter is playing with her dolls I’m playing with my purses. The process does make me appreciate what I already have. 😊

I honestly think that the Speedy 20 in Damier Ebene is absolutely beautiful. I’m not the biggest fan of the strap it comes with so, if I do get the bag, I do have the Speedy 25 in Damier Ebene and use that strap instead.

You’ve inspired me to get back out my speedy 30. I need to use the bags I have more.

I think it looks so very pretty on you! it's just the perfect size. I consider buying this since i don't own any speedy on this print. I love it!

I agree, I like what I have and I don’t feel tempted to buy anything new when I’m barely using what I have in rotation. I don’t travel anywhere theses days or go many places anymore. I’m blessed and just want to be content with what I have. My rule is if I buy something I have to let something go from my collection. That keeps me from buying anything. Liked and enjoyed the vlog. IMO, I wouldn’t buy it but looking at it trying it on would be sufficient for me.

I need to be like you, I think we just need something new all the time ! Im really going to try and enjoy and appreciate my collection ❤

I really feel that you should sell the 25 and get the 20. It looks perfect on your frame and really is the best size. The 20 is in that goldilocks zone. You don’t carry the world with you in your purse, you love a smaller bag, the 20 is perfect for you! And keep the strap! It may grow in you & will be perfect if you take it on Europe/Asia vacay for comfort while walking about😊

I got it this weekend and am loving it 😍 with the strap too but those are my colors

Thanks so much for this video. I also went to the LV this past Monday. And I had to try this speedy on. It’s beautiful.. and I like that it comes in 2 straps. The branding is also too bold for me. But the bag is on my mind ever since I left the store. I know that my best friend has this bag on her mind too. ❤

I struggle with the same thoughts and keep my collection minimal. I would only buy it if it would be replacing something else in your collection.

I can totally relate to this! What I’ve been doing is just waiting things out like you mentioned towards the end of the video haha. I wait at least a month before buying a handbag I find that appeals to me. If a month later I’m still thinking about it, then I’ll consider how what I already have works or does not work for me, and then I usually end up being able to wait longer 😅

I just picked up my DE Speedy 20 from the boutique today! I was not a fan of the guitar strap from seeing pics online, but when I saw it in person I was pleasantly surprised how much I love it! So soft and quality is amazing! In addition I can totally use the strap on other bags! I also have the DE 25B and Emp 20 Black, I thought it was silly to add another Speedy to my collection too, but I couldn't get the DE 20 out of my mind! After being sold out for a couple weeks, I placed an order online right away when it became available again. To my surprise, the order I picked up today is make in France!!! I have to keep her now lol If you are still considering, please don't beat yourself up too much and add the DE 20 to your collection too! You won't regret it, this is a great bag! Plus your daughter might want to use one of the Speedy some day 💞😉💞

I am glad that you are having this though process as I am the same way with my purchases. I live in a studio so I have to be mindful how many bags I can have whether luxury or regular ones. But I cannot contain my excitement as my favorite print is the DE. So, I bought the Speedy20 DE online and received it yesterday and I was not as happy as I was expecting as the big bulky strap is too big and loud for me. Then the zipper on the bend was sewn wrong and it was sort of folding as there was excess fabric. And I already have the Empreinte leather so right then and there, I sent it back and was thinking, I don't need another one that is faulty. Btw, the zipper was closing smoothly, I am just bothered by the folding of the zipper fabric on the bend. So I guess, that is a realization for me, just keep on using the Empreinte leather as they serve the same function. Goodluck on your journey with these bags. Btw, I also admire you sharing your stock stuff, updating us when you sold it. Your videos with your voice tone sort of relaxes me when I watch you. Keep on doing what you're doing, you are amazing because you are very grounded and I get inspired with what you share. So I guess, it is real when they labeled, KZreadrs are Influencers because I really get influenced by you :)

I would get the Speedy B 20 in DE before getting rid of any other ones. That way you have them all in front of you to play with and hopefully you can make a decision then. Have you considered the Side Trunk? It's special, practical, and so beautiful!

I think the speedy b 20 also has shinier gold hardware and lock that don’t easily tarnish and thicker canvas.

As always , excellent well thought out commentary! I agree 100%….if you’re not sure, wait! Is this a seasonal piece or will it be permanent?

Ugh i have the monogram Speedy 20 and now i also want this one! The Damier ebene is soooo cute in the smaller bags…. Now i need to figure out if i should get this or the Alma bb in the same canvas!

Okay the b20 is cute, but looking at your collection now (plus your collection from other designer brands) I’m totally agree that you don’t need it. You have similar size bags, and several bags in damier ebene print

I find it hard to style a speedy bag, it always looks so detached from any outfit🙄

My daughter is in Paris. I sent her a picture of the speedy I wanted her to buy. I started with 30. Then changed it to 25 and finally the new 20. It’s the zipper that did it for me.

The speedy 20 is soo cute. I think its a good addition. Im not a fan of the strap but you can buy a seperate one from lv. I vote for buying and trying it. You can return it anyway or sell the b25 😅

Speedy 20B looks really nice on your body frame

My DE speedy B 25 is MIF and perfectly constructed so I feel like I can never let it go, I am also strongly considering this new speedy 20 😅 tough decisions!

It looks great on you. I ordered a speedy 20 in empriente leather 1.5 years ago but I returned it. It doesn’t fit much. A Speedy is supposed to be a practical and daily bag to me.

I can relate perfectly with your thought process. Too many will feel overwhelmed. I would get rid of speedy bb and 25, and get speedy 20 as 20 got different open to speedy 35, and different use too.

Get it in the monogram it’s so much cuter but of course, more vachetta … but if anything just get rid of the 35, you probably don’t wear it much

Your speedy bb is sooo cute! At least it’s different to the rest of your LV collection. More variety so to speak. Speedy b20 too similar to the ones in your collection I reckon.

Hmm … definitely keep the speedy bb. I have that as well. It’s classic and stunning and too rare. However, you do have two other DE speedy bags so you (IMO) definitely should look at bouncing one of those. I vote for selling the DE 25 for the DE 20. I have the monogram 20 and I am also struggling because it’s such a great bag. It really is. Perfectly compact and well made. I likely will buy it as well and use it in crappy weather and the monogram in the summer. Hope this helps!

I think it's very cute. In fact, I purchased it, tried it on at home, and immediately returned it. It's not for me. It's much too small on my 5'7" frame. Also think it may be too "young" for me, I think it looks GREAT on you!!! And I think it's super cute, but it's sadly not for me.

i kinda like that cloth neverfull. I do like the B20 size in Damier Ebene, of the speedy sizes it'd be the one that i'd go for. I'd probably use it more as an everyday bag since i don't carry a lot of stuff. I know it's about the same size as the BB, but it gives off different vibes. That said if it's a permanent item then you have plenty of time to think it over.

I really wish they'd just offer the strap separately as an option. I wonder if you might consider letting go of a bag in a different brand for the 20 to come in. Or add it then see what bag you end up not reaching for within a certain timeframe.

I absolutely love the speedy 20!! The size is perfect for me. Not a huge of the strap on this bag but the strap on it’s own is beautiful. Personally I’d get the 20 over the 25 or 35. If I were you I’d get rid of the 25 but definitely not the bb!

All of your current LV bags are working great for you. It's normal to be so tempted by this cute bag but TBH I think you're hesitant because you know you don't need it. Give the decision some time, and getting in Europe might be the right future time. It's so hard not to love new bags!

the 35 is really practical for travel so i would keep that

I usually wait awhile sometimes years before I get a bag. 1st is I want to see if I still want to get after a couple of years (which means it's not a trend bag). 2nd, they might add certain features eg when Dior added the long strap to the saddle bag. So if in future, LV adds a leather strap to the speedy 20, I might consider getting it.

I'm waiting for my Speedy 20 DE to arrive, but I haven't seen it in person yet. I have a Speedy 30 DE that I love and would probably use that strap on the 20. I prefer DE over Monogram b/c it's more understated and doesn't scream LV. While I really like this jacquard strap, it screams LV, and I really don't know if I'd use it.

I get your thought process 😊 I think if the strap can be a matching leather strap, I will get the speedy DE 20, and get rid of PM. At least for me, they both serve for a causal crossbody small bag purpose, but PM can’t stand on its own, no top open, and the vechatta leather are three major concerns, which can all be addressed by DE speedy 20. By the way I don’t like speedy 25 because it is a little bulky for cross body and zip open is too small.

Hmm my PM can stand upright on its own! I agree the 25 looks bulkier on the body and the zipper opening is not too generous.

I do think the speedy b20 DE is so similar to your speedy BB and personally I think you can still wear the speedy BB casually. And I agree that you should not sell the speedy 35 as it has a totally different purpose unless of course you were looking to sell it anyway. That said, I got the SB20 in monogram last year and I haven’t actually used it yet as I’ve been gravitating towards my nano speedy every time. However, I am waiting for LV to release the SB 20 in damier azur as I want to add a DA canvas to my collection -but the price for a canvas bag is out of this world !

The speedy 20 is so beautiful maybe you should get it in monogram since all of your speedy’s are in DE. 🤔☺️ I have it in monogram and it’s very practical.

I get how tempting it is! But if I were you I think I’d admire it from afar. I personally have 2 empreinte speedy 20’s (1 in black and 1 in cream/pink) and I’ve been tempted by the DE speedy 20 too. But with the 2 I already have and also owning the HL mini speedy, it really doesn’t serve a purpose other than being pretty. Which is a valid purpose, but for me not a good enough reason to get it.

Do we know FOR SURE that it is a permanent size? Can someone confirm? Thanks for this thoughtful video. I also have the pochette Metis and so I wonder if I should hold back. I also have a Speedy 30 which I absolutely love! It's not an easy decision as it is soooo cute!

Three bags in the same print just different sizes doesn’t make sense. Yes the bag is cute but not sure if you need it given your current collection. I don’t think it makes sense to get rid of the black speedy either because it adds something different beyond the ebene print and is more versatile.

I think you should let it sit for a while and then re-visit the idea of having this bag. Sometimes we can still appreciate the things we love, but we don’t have to own them to appreciate the beauty. Next time when you are using the black speedy bb and speedy 25, think about if you can switch it with the new 20, then after some more time, you may know better if you’d let go of something to get this one, or just to add this.

What about the Alma BB in DE? I have had my eye on that for some time but the Speedy BB in DE is tempting. Except for the strap! The Alma is a similar size , has an extended zipper and a traditional strap. And looks so sharp in DE!

Same thought process and yes I’m not too keen with the strap either.

I'd say wait for that excitement to pass. Because you already have that gorgeous limited edition lambskin BB and speedy 25 DE.

I have the 25 but love the 20. It fits a lot for the size. It’s my second 20. I do prefer the strap from my 25 with the 20 & vice versa.

I would wait a month or two then see how you feel about it. I almost preordered the speedy 20 monoglam because don’t have a speedy in size 20 and the monoglam sounded like an interesting material. I’m glad I waited as I’m no longer interested in the bag.

I’m all guitar strapped out. I wish they would had kept the speedy 20s with the leather straps to keep it within the same classic family. I have my speedy b 25 in de and I thought I’d want the 20 but I have found a new appreciation for the speedy 25 slouch. I have 3 speedy 20s. I think I have enough haha.

You have a lot of discipline, I applaud you for not falling for the hype. 👏🏼🤗 If you didn't live in Manhattan, and space/rotation weren't issues, would you get it? I actually think you would love to have it in your collection because it serves a different purpose. It's the nice in-between bag, and it would be cute to pass on to your daughter as well. It's a classic style & history in-the-making...it's new to LV (so retail is priced the lowest it will ever be), unless you buy preloved or travel to Europe later. So there are those factors as well...😊 I'm trying to pass on it as well--aside from the cute factor, the Speedy 20 is my new favorite bag for every day (I have 3 : black Empreinte, monogram 1st version & pumpkins). I plan to sell the Empreinte because I never use it. 😆 I prefer monogram over DE, so my only DE bag items are the Siena PM and mini pochette. Both of which are rarely used. Thinking of selling the Siena as well (because it seems like a dated style to me & sits pretty big on my hip).😂 Selling the two would make me feel better about possibly adding the Speedy 20 DE in the future. Decisions!! I feel your pain. 😅We can only carry one bag at at time, right?! 😂🤣

Hi I think it's better go let go of the 25 if you are planning to get the 20 because 35 is really good size for travelling at least you can match it with 20 and take them together with you.

I’m going on a road trip next week and purchased one already .. don’t get rid of your smaller speedy’s please especially the BB

On top of strap and extended zip, Speedy 20 also more structure, which will stay in shape better compared to 25.

I also go thru a thought process nowadays too, evaluating my lifestyle and wardrobe :) I group my bags by their size, and compare the bags against its "peers". One may get a chanel classic jumbo, M/L and mini in same black color becuz it serves diff purposes. Can consider if the DE print is that must have, if so, why not? For e.g. i absolutely must have black and pink in all sizes cuz i wear these 2 colors all the time :p

I was never a fan of LV, but I went in LV store in Maui last week to look for something for a friend. Then I saw the new DE Speedy 20 and ended up buying it for myself as my first LV bag! I actually like the wide strap because the color is neutral. The size of the 20 is perfect for me. I have ordered a short chain strap and a thin long leather strap for when I want to change things up. I can totally understand your thought process. Good for you to not just buy it even though you can. If i have those LV bags already, I would probably wait and not get the new 20 yet. Or if you absolutely want it, i think the 25 can may be replaced?

Yes, I was thinking give it some time… it fits like a glove 😉 I liked the Noes in the clip- pretty, but not extra special.

i hope lv will start coming out with more classic prints in the 20, i would die for a vernis monogram or epi in black. i think you should drop the 25 if you decide you want the 20... the silhouette closest and the 25 size seems a bit dated now. that or the pochette metis, but that is a diff bag at least :)

I've been through this process :-) I have similar height to yours (5'7") and tried on Speedy BB in store once, the way the bag positioned on my body felt like I'm carrying a drum lol I ended up buying Keepall XS from men's collection which i use regularly. I could switch to Pochette Metis which i also own if I wanted to dress up the wardrobe. In my honest opinion, I would stick to your current collection, Speedy BB lambskin and Pochette Metis will do 🙂

Absolutely understand! Trying the bag on ourselves is so helpful with these decisions. No matter how many photos we see online, we can only know for sure when we try. 😊

I only do a swap if I am NOT using a certain bag in my collection for some time already. If each of your current bags already have a function then don’t “swap” for it.

I was one of those that voted for getting rid of the 35 😅 but after watching this video, it definitely sounds like that bag serves a very specific purpose for you on top of the quality that you may never find again. Like you talked about in this video, you do have bags that will hold what you need that are comparable in size to the 20 so even though it fills in that “bag gap”, i think that your decision to sit on it and waiting it out is best.
