My boyfriend did a root touch up on my hair yesterday. After watching your videos i had the confidence in me to tell him how to do it. It came out amazing.... Guess what hair budda......... He took fine sections !!!!!!!!! Absolutely amazing

I've been cutting my husband's hair for 20 years. (Military wife) I can do a respectable fade, but that's because I've practiced every few weeks for 20 years! I can cut simple (even fun) styles and my family likes them. They get complimented quite a bit any time they have had their hair changed, so I believe I am pretty good for an amateur. I'm an artist & that translates ok for me to sculpt hair, but there are certainly some things you just don't do without research or training! The chemical experiments on this channel? Whoo! Funny story about removing the guard: my husband thought he would be nice to me and let me sleep in, one time, a few years ago. He had to get up very early for a trip and tried to trim his own hair. He took the guard off and started in the center of his forehead, front to back. Needless to say, he had to wake me up! Fixing it resulted in the shortest hair he's had since birth, and he never tried to do his own hair again!

The only thing worse than messing up your hair is someone else messing up your hair! 😅

I think messing up someone else’s hair is about the same level if not worse 🙊

My uncle did cap highlights on his wife when they didn't have a lot of money and she wanted them done. He did a really good job, and it's really sweet that he did it. There are a lot of men who would never do that for their wives.

Honestly - expecting someone to do an ombré who isn’t a hairdresser. What did she think was going to happen. I think he was really brave for having a go!

This is my thought. She asked him to do it KNOWING he was not a professional and had no clue what he was doing! How did she think it was going to come out? Honestly, it could have been so much worse. I think he did a great job for not being a professional. It's not orange, it's actually a decent shade of blonde and her hair didn't melt off. She should be thanking him for his help, not criticizing his work like she is.

I had never dyed my hair professionally at that point so I had no clue what I was in for. He would always dye my hair crazy colours and would even cut it for me. As disappointed I am in the video, we had a good laugh about it. He has also upgraded to husband status so us spending time doing stupid stuff like that obviously helped haha Also I now go to a professional haha

Good analogy. I was thinking about people who sing. They practice until they never want to hear that song again, but if it becomes popular, they have to act like they love it and sing it 2000 more times.

@@cbryce9243 Yes! We rehearsed soooooo many hours. We were doing this dance in our sleep. When the theater is full we would dance like it was the first time, looking very happy!

The man from down under is very laid back. He gave his all!

I’m the girl in the first video. I don’t know why I have a towel on my head hahaha I was scared it would rub against furniture when I would sit down. My then boyfriend did his best and I appreciate the quality time we spent mucking up my hair. We are now married so he is obviously doing something right. He has also cut my hair, you might need to check that one out too 😂

I actually didn’t know what ombré really was (never had my hair professionally done at that point). He did a pretty good job considering his lack of experience. It’s probably important to note that he would dye my hair pink and purple and blue all the time with no problem, so I thought it would be the same. Oh well we had fun and makes for a funny memory

Its an experience - LOVE IT!

I once went to a hairdresser and spent €300 for ombre hair. My hair was medium length and medium blonde at the the time. It looked like she poured a bucket of black dye on top of my hair. I ended up paying, because she had curled it in such a way that it actually looked good. Then I washed it and realized what a disaster it really was.

I’m really shocked by how many people brush their hair while it’s wet. I always use a large toothed comb or a bug rake. Are you meant to rush it while wet?

I always use a wide toothed comb too when my hair is wet. My hair is fragile and likes to break easily.

I did my partners hair during quarantine, she had, had purple hair before which had faded quite a bit, luckily I guess she just wanted it black all the way and to grow her normal haircolor out, which is very dark brown and it turned out acceptable 😅

Yeah, I’m still glad I paid $400 to get mine done. It’s medium brown with different natural highlights. It’s also down to the middle of my back. They did a nice job. Now I can just let it grow out. It was a lot of money but that’s why I only do this when I have something big to celebrate.

I felt bad for the last guy, he looked very unhappy. I don't know how their relationship is, but that whole interaction made me very uncomfortable. During the pandemic, my brother cut my dad's hair, and the first time he messed up similarly to the last lady, except this was on the back of my dad's head. He felt super bad for messing it up, but my dad didn't mind that much because he wasn't going out of the house since he's a senior citizen. Now he always asks my brother to cut his hair and he does a pretty good job for someone who's not a hairdresser lol.

When I had my hair dyed, my hair stylist said she couldn't do a Ombre and had to be a balayage. It's purple at the roots and bright pink at the lengths, it was my first time professionally having it done.

i have really long hair ( a littlo more than 1 meter). few years ago i burned my hand ( second degree burn, hurt like hell). my husband helped me washing drying and combing my hair. he was a gem but i would not ask him to do anything color related!

when i was a teen i'd let my (aging punk) dad bleach my roots for me and i CRINGE now remembering how he would be scrubbing 40vol into my scalp with his fingers 😬no idea how i didn't have HB video worthy bleach fails every time. to his credit he also used to henna my mums hair for years which was a lot more forgiving to that technique!

I have my husband cut my hair but I always pick easy styles for him.because we are not hairdressers. I usually go for undercuts (I hate having hair on my neck) and then an easy trim. That's all I do because I'm lazy and hate styling.

It is now 54 years ago, we had not much money for the Hairdresser so I trusted my husband to cut my hair, I had long hair and wanted to cut just a little strait across. He started to cut and cut and cut always said they are just a little uneven, I have to cut a little more. At the end my hair was 2 cm short and uneven. I had to buy a wig and wear it for some weeks. We are together now for 55 years and I never let him cut my hair again, but I cut his hair ever since and he looks good. 🥰

I cut all three of my sons hair until they were teenagers. Every style in the book at the time. No fails as far as I can remember. I could trim my own bangs but left the rest to the professionals.

I never understood the draw of ombre.. To me it just looks like someone is just letting their hair grow out from hair dye.

I cut and color my own hair. I've practiced enough that I can cut it to about an inch below my chin. And the color is Ritual by Artic Fox. It's a safe color because my hair is "strawberry blonde", and the color is a dark purpleish red.

No way would I let an untrained person to touch my hair. I don't care how much I love them.. it's a trust thing. 😂

I let my lovely husband cut off my short ponytail during lock down. I also let him do my roots then once too. He was very nervous and we watched lots of YT videos! It was OK because I was in a pinch, definitely not something I wanted to do, but needs must! I can do his hair with clippers now, but these days he does it himself and goes to the barbers 3 or 4 times a year to get it neatened up!

My best friend got an awful bleach job from a salon once and now he only has me do it. Every 2ish months I get a text telling me that people are starting to suspect he is not a natural blonde lol. We use it as our deep convo time as I bleach his regrowth :)

Man, I had a well reviewed hair dresser who swore she could do on ombre ruin my hair sooo yeah wouldn't try that at home kids. Color correction especially when you basically end up with a straight line dividing the bleached and un bleached portions of your hair is expensive
