Andrew Marvell was an English Poet and politician, rather overshadowed by his political career, as his works gained more attention only until the 20th century. He favored the toleration of religious differences and was strongly against the abuse of monarchical power.
To His Coy Mistress was written between 1649 and 1660, but it was published posthumously in 1681.
