I think it's actually that she's just like him, he hates himself, hence he hates Love; that's why he always chooses broken but innocent women as an obsession, as Love once said "perfectly imperfect", because he thinks of himself as a monster.

Joe thinks of himself as a white knight who can take care of broken women and innocent children. This stems from how he came from a broken home, where his father was abusive and his mother abandoned him. So when Joe finds out that Love is just as crazy as he is, Joe can’t handle it.

Joe likes to see himself as a white knight. He loves being seen as a pillar of support who is always there for them. That’s why he commits his atrocities in secret. So he can be there to comfort them, to support them. Love sees the real him. She’s seen the atrocities and still loves him and the fact she still loves him and is so much the same as him, is horrifying to him. He can’t handle someone who loves him the way he loves.

She gave him love not even his own mother could give him. Love accepted him and all the ugly he’s done but Joe never loved her. Love was going to kill Joe for Henry but Joe was eager to kill love for Marianne. Joe became the very thing he always thought he would never be an abuser and bully to love. That’s why there’s so much irony that Loves name is exactly what he wanted.

she just wanted a family. these make me so sad because it makes me see how hard she truly tried and all she wanted was the family and the love she wasn’t given growing up.

When Joe and Beck ended, there wasn’t really any feelings for me, maybe because there wasn’t much love, just pure obsession. As for Love and Joe, everything was taken to a new level, there was love, true love, commitment, then hatred, literally everything. It was really upset when they ended up like that, from effortless understanding to the total opposite, they did try to become a better person but they failed, not to mention they weren’t just lovers, they were family. So when Exile popped up, I couldn’t hold my damn tears 🙄 anyway, Love is one of my favorite characters

The series ended when Love died

I started crying when he gave Henry to Dante and his husband and then exile started playing and I lost it

that was the problem she was the soulmate he deserved. For being so self aware, joe is so delusional. He hated her for killing Natalie but he killed Elijah for the same reason. He killed Benji who was using Beck just like Natalie was using Joe. Love didn't know Delilah so it was natural impulse for her to think Joe would be okay with it but he just couldnt accept that he was the reason Delilah died. He needs someone to save to seem like the nice guy.

"If i'm not enough for you then you'll kill me" it fits love's need for validation and care, its perfect ngl

It's so hard that Love wouldn't to be in the next season, she was awesome, the perfect character for Joe, I'm gonna miss her very much, she was crazy and murder but he is too, and she loved him with all his defects

remember beck said to him "i didnt ask you to swoop in for me and murder", then he replies saying "there's not a line in the world i wouldn't cross for you and i'm not some sicko, im you're protector, then when Love does the same thing he couldn't handle it, that's what makes his character great, he wants a woman to save to make himself seem like the nice guy, Love held up the mirror.

That was the entire problem with their relationship. She was as crazy as him. He just wants to save a woman he idolised so it makes them women love him and accept him as "the nice guy". She may have been impulsive but just because Joe is more strategic doesn't make him a better person a lot of people who watch this show seem to argue that.

i also love this edit, at first it was the beginning of their relationship, but as the pace started to pick up it was the ending, when they were always fighting

Love should be the end game for Joe, would be the perfect ending for the series. Beck was a child. Marienne and the girl from season 4 is very shallow in my opinion. Love should be the girl in the final season, they really work well as a team too. Soulmates.

Nah. She was acting a lot like Joe did in S1. Remember how he killed Benji? There was nothing controlled or planned about that. He didn't even have a plan to begin with. She was exactly as "out of control" as Joe himself was, neither more nor less. He saw his own reflection in the mirror and he didn't like it.

Would’ve been fine with season 3 ending with joe dying and love living. They both crazy, but I like Love more. Also at end of the last episode the song was literally perfect. Hard to tell what was happening though through my tears.

I think Love was beyond saving which made the ending perfect. I preferred her character but Joe had already prioritised another woman in the series showing his ability to move on quickly. Joe’s story has a quick reset whereas I don’t think Loves does.

I don't know how but in this series I don't love or not even Joe both are right in their way I think ❤️ but we all gonna miss love in next season 🥺

Alternativley, we dont see her die and someone could've dragged her out of the fire. Ellie, for example, we have no idea where she is but shes alive so its not unimaginable that she could save love if shed been tracking Joe after what he did to her sister. Her mother could've dragged her out jesus even firemen couldve saved her.

Let's remember that physical pain can not transfer from one person to another, weather the psychological pain is always transferred (transmitted) to another person or other people's minds. That's what im saying. Had Love never met Joe, she'd have went her whole life without murdering anyone again. Yes she was IMPULSIVE but she's way less experienced than him, he was this impulsive in S1. Joe just hated the mirror at the time, that SHE was his match. If Joe was a good man instead of a nice guy, he'd have left Natalie alone and killed Ryan without wanting anything back from Marienne. Love shouldn't have cheated on Joe or hit Gil over the head, that's on her. But now as we see at the end of s4, Joe has faced himself and loves himself for his actions lmao.

No, both are completely crazy & dangerous. No amount of love, passion, bitterness can change what they both inflicted to each other (possession, dishonesty, secrets, emotional manipulation, they imprison each other, and eventually, one even kills the other.) Yet, I think Love could have evolved into someone healthier. I find it unfair that Joe has this opportunity and not her, he is clearly not a better person (for now! Of course, we are longing for season 4), constantly in denial(never takes responsibility for his mistakes) and blaming whoever he can. For all we know, Love killed three times in her life(and once because her brother was abused by the au pair), Joe however killed (at least) five times. It's not a contest, obviously, they don't kill the same & for the sames reasons (Love open throats, driven by impulse, Joe 'saves' people when he's/they're out of options). I understand that it was killed or be killed, but I didn't want Love to die(neither Joe) ... I would have wanted to see how she would evolve, if she could (finally) have a sane relationship with the neighbour's kid, maybe with her mom, ... et cætera. It is such a waste, honestly :) I find that the entire serie itself is about authenticity & emotional honesty : because secrets (literally, here) kill. Also, the only moments where nobody dies & situations evolve, are when the characters talk to each other(therapy/when Joe asks for a divorce/when Sherry & Cary are in the cage, ... etc). Those are very powerful, beautiful moments. For season 4, I hope Joe will stop falling in love with 'damsels in distress' and finally be healthy, see his son again, & find true happiness. P.S: the actors are so talented, all of them, I wolf this show ❤️ and I cried at the end of season 3...
