Bro you are a glove god...Question though: Was this laces replecement just aesthetic? Or also functional -i.e. were the old laces not gonna grt the job done anymore? And why not?

New laces provide stiffness and bring back the shape of the glove. You also don't have to be worried about the laces breaking mid game. Thanks for the question.
