For my very first Louis Vuitton bag I would go with the classic monogram. For my second I would go with the Damier

I thought the other way around would be better considering the monogram one does patina over time unlike the DE print.

I have speedy b 25 in damier ebene and I made my decision based on the influence of your videos. I also have the classic speedy in monogram. But I really wish I had the classic in ebene and the speedy b in monogram. The speedy classic in monogram is very delicate because of the vachetta handles. I actually sent the speedy classic mono for repair to replace the entire vachetta of my bag. Now with the speedy b 25 ebene I feel the straps are a bit hard to carry on my shoulder so I have to work on breaking the leather. I think a speedy b in mono is more convenient because of the untreated leather being softer and the cross body os more of a casual look. The ebene is a bit more classy print.

Chloe great comparison and I always love the in-depth modeling shots. It really helps to see it on :) which print is your favorite?? I know the main difference is the treated vs non-treated leathers and I cannot decide. This would be my first LV purchase and I am so torn. Comfortability in the strap or care free? :/ additionally I think golden honey patina is gorgeous but I do not want to “baby” my bag and I do not think I’d be able to achieve the perfect patina. Thanks for the help!!

Hi, dear :) I know how hard it is to choose which one to go and that's why I have both, lol. Personally I think the monogram looks cuter but I use DE much more because it's care-free. My hands are sweaty almost all the time and speedy b monogram is the bag that I have to baby because of my hands. If you like golden honey patina, monogram would be okay. But I'm not a big fan of golden honey patina or vintage look and that's why I use DE more even though Mono looks cuter. But I usually tend to recommend Monogram bags as a starter piece because it's basic and iconic. In a word, DE is more practical for me but Mono is cuter. I think it's totally up to your preference and personality :) If you think mono is cuter and you don't care of the patina that much, then just go for it! If you're looking for a worry-free easy bag for daily use, DE would be better. My English is not that good but hopefully you got what I mean and it was helpful :) Thank you for watching ♥

I can’t decide what to get! I like the monogram, but I want to use the purse everyday and I’m worried about the patina getting get quickly, where I feel the ebene won’t show as much wear. Any opinions?

Hi, I know this is a late response but if you haven't gotten the bag yet I would go with the Damier Ebene print. I live in NY where it always rains and before i bought this bag i researched bc I wanted the monogram but didn't want to the color to change. I went with the damier ebene and i have to say it is a beautiful bag in this print. Looking at the monogram ones on youtube now I think the bag is much prettier in the DE print. My opinion tho. Can't go wrong with either one.

Love your comparison videos very detail and well explained. I chose the damier ebene canvas because I am a bit ocd I do not like the upside down LV logo it just bothers me and makes the bag less than perfect. The damier ebene one is not as obvious.

Ugh this bothers me too. I wish the design was the right way up on both sides and joined underneath in the middle. The bag could be designed with the bandouliere strap running along the bottom as well as along the sides to conceal the seam.
