Well I quit being a drill instructor, so moved out here for some peace and quiet. I'm in retirement just like you. Once in a while, I still help train the Alaskan scouts. Cambell told me about the situation here. I thought I might be of some use. I know lots about survival in a harsh environment. I've lived in Alaska longer than you, So call me if you have any questions about the flora or fauna out here. My frequency is 141.80

It's lovely. Louis' bit about staying together for the sake of the kids being akin to holding in a shit for 20 years is bang on. If the parents split but are in a position to divide custody in a way that serves The best interests of the children is crucial. Once that is sorted, the active and conscious approach to parenting should really be something that goes without saying. The beautiful part is that your engaging in your child's daily life means you reap a dividend too. You feed each other.

And adults have a right to see a movie they paid for with their own cash at a rate of probably 3x the rate of the kid's ticket, without a bunch of noise because a parent can't deal with a tantrum. Basically, a good parent (and Louis does sound decent), teaches a child where such things are appropriate. Or, do like my mother did, and instill fear of death.

The only leverage they is acting upset. If you give in to that because you care what other people (that you dont care about) think, then im sorry to say - you are a weak person and most likely a bad mother. But, if you make that mild sacrifice for the childs future then you got away with another day of not being either.

It’s a reference to a confrontation one of the other hosts had in a movie theater after his girlfriend yelled at a Latina woman for talking non-stop during the film, and the host’s attempts at defusing the situation largely failed because the other woman was, as her boyfriend described it, “in battle mode.” It was talked about earlier in the show.
