When i was stationed (Navy) at Japan in the early 1980s, Loudness guitarist, Akira Takasaki, was considered the Eddie Van Halen of Japan. Akira ROCKS!!

Such a mean riff. Even the way he particularly plays it makes it sound so aggressive (sounds like he kind of hits it with the side of his pick and thumb together, giving it even more bite).

Its great to see these same metal bands from my childhood still around rockin. I remember sitting in the back seat listening to this music and i told my dad i was thirsty, he handed me his beer and said just a sip. I was 7 lol. The 80s were so laid back and people were not sensitive cry babies like they are now in the new millennium.

I saw them in a club in Syracuse NY, opening for Keel of all bands... I remember thinking that Akira was so friggin' good, he would be a Superstar if he was in an American band. The band was awesome and tight. They were highly entertaining. They had their Japanese road crew milling about. It was a fun time in music. I'm glad they're still around and rocking. RIP Munetaka Higuchi.

I saw the same tour in Madison, Wisconsin at the Dane County Coliseum. Loudness were tight as fuck and blew Motley Crue off the stage big time. One of the more memorable gigs I've seen in 40+ years of hard rock & heavy metal concerts. Hundreds of shows attended over the years in Minneapolis/St.Paul, Madison & Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Chicago, Illinois, Central Florida from 1985 - 1991 was the greatest stretch of metal gigs easily: local acts including Savatage, Crimson Glory, Nasty Savage, Roxx Gang, plus killer gigs by Nitro (O.F.R.: OutFuckingRageous tour), Trouble, Fates Warning, Ozzy at Orange County Civic Center(Ultimate Sin tour) with Queensryche opening, Metallica at Daytona Beach Ocean Center (And Justice For All tour), I could go on & on - late eighties in my mid-twenties and METAL RULED at the time most definitely!!!

Oh yeah - then moved cross country to Las Vegas for a three year stretch before coming back home to the Upper Midwest area. 1st Avenue & all the great Twin Cities clubs since coming back: Motorhead, Anthrax, Megadeth, Corrosion of Conformity (Deliverance tour - Christ was that one hell of a show...stood in line outdoors nearly 90 minutes in -20 degree weather then C.O.C. melted my face off! L7 at some dive bar downtown I can't even remember the name of but holy shit did those chicks jam!(Hungry For Stink tour..."Andre" fuck yeah! Lizzy Borden at the Fine Line was another killer gig. Quest club gave me shows by King Diamond, DIO, Doro Pesch/Warlock, W.A.S.P., Station 4 in St.Paul had Iced Earth + In Flames, Metal Church + Meliah Rage, Candlemass, Star Central Club in Minneapolis Overkill + Prong, Sonata Arctica...damn I could just keep grinding down memory lane...Rock Fest in Cadott twice - once with Judas Priest headlining the other with Megadeth headlining...other bands at those 3 day outdoor festivals included U.F.O., Twisted Sister, Y&T, Cinderella, Tesla, Firehouse, Full Moon Saloon in Mauston, Wisconsin: Blue Oyster Cult + Nazareth + April Wine, Quiet Riot with all 4 original members. 1970s arena shows in the Twin Cities between St. Paul Civic Center & Minneapolis Met Center included Ted Nugent, Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, fucking ANGEL ( FANTASTIC gig) Steve Marriot & Humble Pie, Jethro Tull + Whitesnake, Judas Priest + Iron Maiden + AXE ( knock down drag out rock 'n' roll party in the street!) Christ I could literally go on & on. I've been very fortunate to see a shit-ton of fantastic hard rock & heavy metal bands over the years damn Covid-19 sure brought that to a screeching halt this year! I am definitely jonesing for some LIVE MUSIC DAMMIT!!!

@@michigunsanta8680 yeah for sure debut "Vices" is a great LP no doubt - "Heavy Metal Shuffle". AXE formed in the late 70s. Founding member Bobby Barth used to front a local band that played in the mid 70s called BABYFACE that used to play clubs around Wiaconsin/ Minnesota border area. AXE released their eponymous debut LP in 1979 followed in 1980 by my personal favorite "Living On The Edge". 2 years later their 3rd effort was their best selling & most popular release "Offering" which had the radio hit "Rock 'n' Roll Party In The Streets" which I mentioned. Also contained a great cover of the Montrose classic "I Got The Fire". They were supporting that LP when they opened that gig. Maiden was 1st US tour with Bruce Dickinson on vocals supporting "The Number Of The Beast" LP & Judas Priest topped the bill supporting "Screaming For Vengeance". My 2nd time out of 3 seeing JP -1 & only time seeing the other 2. AXE is more of a hard rock vibe than metal but I would recommend starting out with that 2nd LP - definitely their heaviest. Offering took a bit more of a commercial turn( hence the radio hit) then in 1983 their 4th LP "Nemesis" would be their last until resurfacing in 1996 with the aptly named "Five" LP which was a decent comeback effort, bur the late 70s/early 80s were definitely their heyday. Man I could talk about this stuff forever I'll stop before I get going on another jogged memory bank!
