The Marshal simply gives the song a new presentation giving some different elements added pronunciation and bring out the hand claps and toms during the verse portions of the song. I love how Kimmy gives Mr. Rawls' absolute center-stage by dropping out all the music and as he makes his dismal declarations to the one walking out on him and then slowly building everything back up for the final stretch.
