FYI to anyone doing this: The sill can be slipped behind the windshield mount support. No need for that aluminum bracket there too. You have to be creative and gentle with the oscillating saw, but after trimming around the area as well as I could, I turned the blade around and was able to run behind that black windshield cover, between the sill, separating the glue. ---to then slip the sill in, you slide the sill in from about a 45° angle (like an open car door).

Hi Steve, there is a plastic or rubber U trim that goes on the sill edge around the perimeter of the opening for the rear vent. It stops the paint rubbing against the vent. There's also a 50/60 diameter flexi pipe that cable ties to a tab on the vent to direct some air to the alternator.

Awesome Steve, you should be very happy with that repair considering you’ve never done one before. Do you plan on repainting that extra sill piece for a better colour match? Very inspiring.

Any reason why you didn’t repaint the top bar? Won’t you get a colour difference now? Oh, and when is the first fanclub day? 😀

Harald.111’s car adventures! , thanks. Well the newly painted parts are matched to the color of the original panels. Its a 99 % match. The paint was made on the result of the spectrometer reading of an older panel. If there is a difference, then i will spray it as well. But so far it looks identical. Once i get it assembled and outside in daylight i will have another check. In fact i will have repainted the entire car. Part by part except a few smaller pieces. I am Working on front shell at this moment.

interesting you have a high end vehicle, and they don't even make exact replacement parts for it.:( Lots of extra tinkering to retrofit the Sill.

itsjustme I know its very strange. The original fitted sill ( factory fitted 2003). Has the proper flange. The original replacement parts do not.
