You can cheat the cheat detection. When you get the Jackpot Prize, before he gives you your new ticket, set the clock back to the date you got the first ticket (for most people that will mean setting it back to the current day). This will mean that the game registers the ticket as obtained on that past date, and not the date you had jumped ahead to. This means you can farm the Lottery over and over without needing to worry about your system clock ending up several years in the future. I don't know exactly what the window is for changing the date back, but I did it while Mario was holding the Jackpot Prize above his head. For example, if you got your first ticket on 5/24/24 on the system clock, and got the Jackpot on 5/10/25, you can return to 5/24/24 during the Jackpot dialogue before getting the new ticket, and that ticket will be registered as received on 5/24/24. You can then do everything again, and Lucky will have no idea you cheated.

@@jovecutur5560 It didn't when I turned the clock back while Mario was holding the item above his head. It's possible it could if you turn it back before or after that. I didn't test that, since the first thing I tested worked.

Pro tip, if you want to cheat the lottery but then set your clock back to normal afterwards, there's a way to do so without getting caught. All you have to do is change the date AFTER claiming the Lucky Day badge (or the Zess Dynamite if you do this more than once for some reason), but BEFORE he gives you a new ticket. This is only possible in the remake because you can press the Switch's home button mid-dialogue, whereas changing the Gamecube's clock required turning the whole game off.

If you play the original TTYD on Dolphin, does it still have an internal system time of its own? Or does it go by your actual machine's set date and time? If it's the latter case, then is it possible to change the date mid-dialogue on emulator?

@@kingdomheartsgamer8771 If it's like the original, you'll be okay as long as you check the lottery after the last reported time. So if you've changed it to 355 days in the future, you must wait 355 days before checking the lottery again if you don't want to get caught. If you get caught, it's 500 coins to play again. You could just ignore it if you don't care about future prizes

just set your time to like 2004 he cant be mad if your in modern times after you got to first place in like 2007.

Thx did exactly that and somehow got jackpot after 2 try then after I got my new ticket I just set date back to normal and tried it for fun cause idc about the power up badge and somehow won it first try lmao

It is sad how rigged it is, I wish you could just get those out of luck instead of a hard requirement to wait almost a year

​@@ShuckleShellAnemia The main problem is it isn't possible at all. It would be nice if you could win, even if it were 1 in 10,000, rather than having to wait a year before you definitely win.

Fact: the remake allows you to win the grand prize and change the clock back without ever being recognized as cheating. When you win the grand prize, change your clock back to what you had it when you first received your ticket while Mario is holding the lucky day badge over him. The new ticket will be valid while avoiding the cheating mechanic.

Not positive it worked yet, he says the new ticket takes effect tomorrow, but I got curious about something. I won 1st place and tried re-synching my switch clock just before he gave me the new ticket, figuring the game posts the date on the ticket's coding. I've saved and reset the game and he still doesn't seem mad at me, operates as normal. Maybe breaking the lottery is avoidable in this version. Edit: Got away with it several times to farm items so I'm assuming this works just fine. Never got mad and blocked lottery even once.

Plot twist: He got tired of chasing cheaters.

...Huh. That's interesting that it _queues_ the prize wins. On GCN I swear you had to somehow _guess the_ *_exact day_* to advance to in the range, or you missed your shot entirely. Also: in-universe, Mario is just standing there like a statue for 335 days, and considering the Thousand-Year Door's Seal was _already weakening_ in the thousandth year when the game begins, the Shadow Queen took over the world while you were doing this.

In the gamecube he knows you cheat Edit: it's in the remake too still! Thankfully!

Does the ticket seller usually say something when a jackpot is close? Was doing this and he said he feels like exploding until i hit my jackpot though it took several days and i won a bunch of 4th place prizes which i am happy to have.

Am i doing this wrong? I set it to 335 days; but after the 3rd or 4th day continuing all i get are consolation prizes. I reset the game a few times to test things putting the date back and forth (i set it to jan 1st to make remembering easier and 335 days later is dec 1st) and ill get lucky again on the 1st couple days then nothing again.

I remember in the OG power plus badge is 1st prize & lucky day badge was 2nd prize i guess it makes sense in this version because lucky day lucky lottery 😂

Does this work on the original too? I know it would take longer as you'd have to quit the game to change the clock, but I thought if you set it 335 days forward, you'd miss the windows for the first three prizes on the GC version. If that's not the case, then whoever explained how it worked on GC got it wrong.

The only way to avoid being caught is to get the item then change the date back to normal before he gives you a new ticket has to be after you got said item you wanted tho, if you get the ticket in the remake then change it back he will notice

if you revert the date backwards, the game will detect that and he'll call you a cheater. as punishment you have to pay him coins (i don't remember how much) to start the lottery back up again

I'd say so because you basically can't actually win without cheating. You have to play for nearly an entire year on the same file

Could you move the date back to the past, buy the ticket and then revert to current time and not have it be cheating?

Accidentally synced my time while doing this, turned it straight back off but he the bomb knew! Reloaded the save and he still knew. Should of turned off my internet on the switch so it couldn't happen, am not happy lol

I like how, after all this time you can actually screw him over, which is frankly deserved, I mean, WHATEVER ticket you get, you're STUCK with it, and if you wanna change it, you have to pay ONE HUNDRED COINS, JUST TO CHANGE THE TICKET. A HUNDRED. COINS. That just screams scam, so I scammed the scammer, even figured this out on my own, and got away with it cuz I got a free ultra shroom, I feel no remorse.
