As a 15 year old who loves studying CS and engineering I'm still fascinated by how old toys work.

It's so weird how much toy robots have changed in the last 70 years!

How did I get here? Lol. Awesome though

A robot was one of my favorite toys in the 60's. Got one for Christmas 1966, I was 5 years old. Unfortuneatly, the only batteries made in the 60's didn't last very long and were very expensive to buy. So, my parents were not to eager to purchase new ones.

I had the green one with machine guns in it's chest. I saw it at a Woolworth store and gave it to my mom and wanted it for Christmas.

Idk why but toy robots just hit so close to home for me

There is just something really cool about this kind of stuff. I personally enjoy old LEGO space sets, also I collect and fix 70s-80s computers and other old electronics. I do buy vintage toy robots when I find them. These types of old things are clearly built very well and with care, it would be awesome if big manufacturers would try to bring back the quality and fun into their products.

Because of your videos, my daughter and I have gone out and grabbed the black Saturn robot (with original box and rockets), the bump and go action robot (w box and rockets), a tin wind up robot Lilliput (w box), a tin wind up Robby robot (w box), and the deluxe flying Baymax. We coming for WALL E, and Iron Giant, next!!!!

Update! Found WALL E with EVE figures at a local Wal-Mart, and also picked up the D-O droid there too!!

So those were the ancestors of the teletubbies.

I love that ROBOTS ❤️💪

You should look at the other robots made by sega, it's really interesting to see that they have made robots.

They all are beautiful, I have 3 of those battery robots that open their chest.

Great video. I have a small collection of robots myself and going to get more for sure. Those two near the end with the light up screens, I remember I had one like that many years ago as a child. He shot missiles from his head, and I think his name was Saturn. I really must try to get him again sometime. Subbed.

Hi, my husband was born in 1950, he had a robot toy I am trying to find...it was more squarish. He says the HEAD opened up and shot missiles, not from the stomach like most I have seen and the hand could throw little balls or something...ring a bell? Most likely battery op. We were watching old sci fi flicks and a commercial for THAT robot came on but now I can't find it...any thoughts?

Hey! After a bit of research I think I've found the robot you are looking for! :D I believe it might be ROBOT COMMANDO by IDEAL. It shoots missiles from its head and throws balls. I hope this helps and thanks for watching. :)
