@@frankesler8774 We look forward to when the deer start to set up residence on our property. They haven't had to thus far, but the more they discover us, the more they'll want to visit more often! Once we dig the new farm pond, we will plant a plot of wheat and clover that the deer really enjoy, so that will be fun!

We only recently got a new recording device (it records directly from the cams before the video gets sent to KZread, thus the quality is much clearer) and hopefully we'll get some more joey sightings! They are absolutely the cutest little critters that I've ever seen! I hate to say that I have a favorite critter, but boy oh boy, opossums.....specifically baby 'possums, really melt my heart!

Hi Mike!! So happy you still watch on occasion! I really miss the the roof rats as well. I can't tell you how many people emailed us saying we should discourage the rats, but critters are critters and that forest was just as much their home as it was to the deer and the squirrels! I really got attached to Ben, the Roof Rat that would stand on his tiny little hind legs to drink water. Melted my heart! I do hope you stop by the chat and reconnect with some loyal chatters who have literally been with us since the beginning and meet some of the new chatters as well. Chatters tned to ebb and flow, but we do have a core group that visit time and time again and it's such an honor for us to have long-time chatters and viewers visit often. Melts my heart even more than the Roof Rat!!

Well we're not out of the woods so to speak with the gators. There are large farm ponds nearby and they are building a giant subdivision a few miles away so there will be detention ponds with underground drainage that the gators like to use to get around. Gators are native to this entire area so it's not out of the question that they "might" show up here, but having said that, we are much much much further away from the marshes than at the old place, so that's a benefit!

Your comment sent me down a rabbit hole looking to see how and if those 2 snakes are related somehow, but I couldn't find anything that confirmed that fact. A true sidewinder snake is venomous & when it moves , it maintains only 2 points of contact on the ground at any given time. I re-watched the watersnake and while it did move in a sideways trajectory, it seems to maintain quite a bit of contact on the ground through the whole length of it's body. I'm going to look further into this and reach out to a person I know that is a South Carolina snake expert and find out some info as this is interesting!

Oh no we didn't shut down, we had to relocate, so we did! It's been a slow process getting set up at the new place and having to run plumbing, electrical, fiber optic, etc. But yep, we are still streaming! Never stopped, just slowly moved the camera's to the new place one at a time! Glad you found us again though!

@@frankesler8774 Aww, thank you for the positive and uplifting comment Fran! We truly appreciate your kindness and taking note of the hard work involved in getting set up at the new place. Chris has worked so very hard running underground fiber optic, electrical, water, drainage and then having to pour the concrete pad, etc. I almost want to forget about all that because it was so overwhelming at the time, but I also don't want to forget just how hard we worked to make this happen. We are honored to continue to tend to the critters that don't always have a guaranteed meal. We are even more honored to share this view so you can enjoy as well! XOXO
