After just over a week in Warsaw it was time to head home the same way I flew over, via Krakow. Originally this flight was supposed to be operated by a B737-800, I selected seat 5F and had my boarding pass on my phone. However just before boarding this was downgraded to an E195. So my seat no longer existed - everyone with these seats was then called to the gate to have boarding passes reissued. I was then reallocated 7D.
The COVID-19 pandemic was just about starting in europe, I have never seen Chopin Airport so empty. I guess a lot of passengers were choosing not to travel. The few that were, already had masks and crew were wearing gloves. Poland closed all its borders a few days later.
