I appreciate the general truth behind this series. I also appreciate that this series is taking on a more factual approach than that of Anc. Aliens on the H Channel, which I do not respect (that series or channel). This series, on the opposite end, focuses on the truth, what we do know or can truly infer, and what conclusions we can now draw from these legitimate and factual findings under the seas/oceans. Please continue this series and remain true to providing truth to the world so as to educate us and our youth with empowered knowledge in the betterment of furthering our society.

At this point the H channel needs to change it's name. It has nothing to do with History and is little more than a joke. Such a shame, honestly. I'm a lover of history and ancient civilizations. That channel only seems to focus on bafoonery. I'm thankful for Nat Geo. They're bringing things to us that otherwise most would never see or hear.

Marvellous documentary for the wider public. Fun fact: the "ram" on the Roman Trireme displayed and discussed in this episode, in Latin, is called, "ROSTRVM". This "rostrum" was taken from conquered ships and arranged in the FORVM.ROMAE. rather like a trophy. It was upon these "rostra" that the great Scipios and later, Sulla and then Cicero addressed the POPVLVS; a sign and symbol to the world of superiority. It is from this word in this context, that we have taken "rostrum" completely into English as "Rostrum" - a 'podium' from which a leader speaks. (Maybe this could have been mentioned - just to make more connexions between this remote time in our past and our present.)

See in the first few minutes, where paintings are shown of men with cattle. As I am a firm believer in 'giants' of varying heights, I noticed the oddity of the cattle, in comparison with that of those ( the men) shown. Many have not yet learned/accepted the business of giants being a normal part of the past world/civilizations, even being around in certain isolated areas today !

Except the "Minoans" were Greeks, and is just a name Evans randomly gave to Kretans, who are Proto-greeks, to describe a period in the history of Greece, seeing as the "Minoans" had similar gods, similar religion, and a language that seems to be the precursor of what is called "Mycenaean", which is the next major Greek period in its history.

It's interesting that the amphora shape took hundreds of years to evolve to perfection. (Because it looks weird and terrible) I wish they would have shown WHY they're so specifically shaped.

My recollection is that the shape meant they could be stacked in a room or hold. Outie bits and innie bits fit together like an interlocking puzzle.

The idea of drying up of the ocean occurs in the history of the world for the first time in the oldest Historical Epic Ramayana (see the 5th Canto) of India.

How do they know it was “one of the biggest eruptions in the history of the planet “? It’s been around for ~4 billion years. Maybe they meant it was one of the top 50% biggest eruptions in Earth’s history. But even then…?

@@ALT-vz3jn I appreciate your response, but I stand by what I wrote. It’s just too speculative. 4 BILLION years is a long time.

Sudden environment change may be equivalent to "wrath of the gods". It's great that science can help us identify these changes. It'd be nice to find them, time them, and measure them. Figure out how often they occur, where and how big. Tons of near extinction events. Sadly some changes, like water tables in Punjab, put a billion people at risk. Twice I saw floods wipe out neighborhoods down by the river in my city and those homes stunk. Everything had to be thrown out. Yeah, definitely a problem.

I think the same thing with the big bang theory. It sounds an awful lot like genesis lol. From chaos: order. Something created from nothing. Let there be light.
