    I don't know that it's universal, but I like to imagine everyone agrees on the Poolrooms being a generally safe place. No monsters or baddies... Just, an endless hall of rooms where you can feel safe, calm, and comforted. As someone who can get overwhelmed by a bunch of stimuli and would want something lesser yet still stimulating, the strangely nostalgic Poolrooms are endlessly comforting in that aspect. If I could be there any time I want, and leave when I have the time, I would want to visit there currently.

    I completely agree. I don't like when people constantly want to insert entities and monsters and threats to every liminal space/backroom. To me the poolrooms are a place of calmness, reflection and peace, to leave all your fears and insecurities far away and exist in a place outside of time and space to clear your mind and feel refreshed.

Endless pool where almost everything was white and the water was cyan... There also were some mystery black holes in the wall just like in this video. Everything was beautiful but also creepy a little bit. Now, I have just found this content in the internet. It's amazing, I have never expected this.

    As a very young kid, I remember swimming in the neighborhood pool - eventually I overcame my fear of the deep in, until I once got too close to the pool drain. My dad told me once "Don't get that close to the drain ever again - it'll suck all the guts out your asshole like a vacuum, and you'll drown." I still have an occasional nightmare about pool drains as a full grown man, and typically those dreams take place in areas like this. It's so weird that these sort of pool-rooms renderings became popular. I suppose we are all more alike than we think, and our brains tend to portray certain scenarios, such as large pools, in similarly dramatic fashion for all of us. Almost as if all of our brains are AI's synced together, producing the same weird, unnerving, uncanny-valley type imagery. That's why I find shit like this so fascinating. It's a visualization I once thought deeply personal, only to realize we're all more alike than we think.

    @@Bocqurant I recalled it as well, but to me it was just unpleasant to watch. That also can be felt when you're watching how's someone suffering in desperation, like in some other movies, you know. Plus, the ways how such scenes were shown in the franchise kinda made me think more about danger even from some usual things. I mean, it's not that fear, but still something you can't just throw outa your mind at all, like it could happen for real...

    I remember a funny little occurrence when I first played this mix. I'd been listening to Desert Sand's album, New World Disciples frequently as background around then. If I'm remembering correctly, the first track was somehow playing in my head *before* I had read the tracklist. I wasn't expecting it to be in here, much less to be the first track. It was so surreal hearing it practically come out of my head and enter my ears.

  • @Jaymic
    @Jaymic Жыл бұрын

    You can get to the Poolrooms if you submerge yourself for too long in a body of water while you're alone, though there have been some cases when submerged suddenly and unexpectedly, regardless of the presence of others. Some have even said if you aren't careful while using a water slide, you can slip down an alternate path that ends up there. You surface in the endless watery limbo. White tile walls and a slight chlorinated smell, like a hotel pool, are what greet you. Everything is slightly damp and the air is humid, but warm, so you never feel cold despite your clothes that never seem to dry, or lack thereof. Bright skylights illuminate some of the rooms with what seems like sunlight, though it never ends and has no obvious source. In other rooms, celling lights stay lit, emitting a familiar buzz. If you concentrate on it for just long enough you swear you smell mildew. Unlike the Backrooms, this space has nothing, nothing but water and tile. Sometimes, when you stay completely still, you swear you hear a splash echo from a far off pool, or the sound of wet feet upon tile. Any attempt to follow the winding bodies of water, either through a tunnel or slide, just lead to that, more water, and more tile. The lucky ones can find a way back by the methods that got them there, if they're very, very, lucky. Be warned, you don't always find yourself back in the body of water you started in.

    If my memory is good I dreamed to be in a similar place lots of times during my infancy... this pool was in a very green garden and it was pale blue and made of crystal, just a little bit white... and it was like a sunny summer day... it was AMAZING to stay there.

    this is your afterlife. forever. alone. it may not be your hell, but someone else couldn't possibly imagine it. still, it seems like nice place to spend an eternity. no one to fight or bicker with. to trip out in such a place shouldn't be magical, but combine it with some vaporwave, it sure feels like it.
