I am crying like a child watching this! Mark Goddard, that wonderful, wonde3rful man who played Major Don "Crash" West, passed away last October 10. God rest his soul.

I think he played Major West's commanding officer in the LIS movie some years back. In fact the only original cast members who weren't in it were Guy Williams, Jonathan Harris and Bill Mummy.

@@charlesbrentner4611 Yes, he did, he played the general. Later, in 2018 Mark and Bill collaborated with Kevin Burns in the reboot of LIS for Netflix, with Bill even making a small but very significant cameo. I had the honor of calling Mark a friend. He was an amazing person. God rest his soul.
Happy to see these crystal clear scenes of Guy Williams. Fantastic footage behind the scenes Lost In Space.👍✨🌟💫🎇🎆
I fondly remember LIS when it premiered back in the September, 1965. I was 11 and a huge fan of the space program and anything to do with astronomy. I remember watching the very first episode of the series, Reluctant Stowaway, when it was first aired. Interestingly enough, the show predated Star Trek by one season, so there was truly nothing else like it on TV at the time. Even though the show became really corny by later that season and beyond, it still holds a place in my heart. On a side note, I enjoyed the interview and screen test for Guy Williams. He was indeed quite handsome, and a heavy smoker!

I remember hearing that when he appeared as Zorro at Disney world he was supposed to vault into the saddle but accidentally sailed over the horse on one occasion and hit the ground. Ouch! Even heroic outlaws can have a off day
Im glad i bought the 17disc collection at Best Buy years ago. Alot of extras

I also have the series on DVD. I grew up in the 1970's watching it in reruns along with Star Trek. Both are still good tv
I was struck to hear Mark Goddard passed away. Thats very sad. I grew watching this SciFi family series in the 70s. Mark the pilot expert co star to Guy Williams. Will be missed im sure by many. Fortunate are those who had the pleasure to meet these great people. RIP Mark Goddard.👍💫🌟✨
Very fun to watch the tech footage. Guy sure was handsome.

Uh, well the show didn’t come out until 1965. I distinctly remember some of the S1 shows, and it being my favorite show, but I was born in ‘62, so I couldn’t have been more than 3 or 4 years old!! They weren’t showing reruns back then, except at the end of the season. For some reason, I can’t remember seeing the color episodes from S2 and 3, until I saw them all in syndication in the early ‘70s!!
Wonderful look behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing with the fans of the show. Great childhood memories of after school TV viewing in the 70's.😊

Same with me! I was 3 years old in 1965 but truly appreciated the reruns after school circa 1972-1976.
The Giant is so menacing looking especially under the outdoor natural light. It's such a magnificent shot as he towers over the cliff poking at John and Don taking cover in the cave. It is so convincingly real. Sich a great scene with the surrounding cliffs.👍✨🌟💫
Ahhhhh, the networks used to care about the family and the future. As Dylan said: "the times they are a changin"

And once upon a time commercials were shown in between programs rather than taking up 15 minutes of every hour (3 breaks of 5 minutes each). Now they shave off a few seconds here and there so a show fits its time slot.
According to information I read on Wikipedia you can see there for more. Mark Goddard Born Junee 24, 1936 was originally named Charles Harvey Goddard, he died October 10, 2023.

Zorro.
Williams paychecks cleared the bank and made for a comfortable retirement.
Doesn't it seem so odd to hear someone encouraging someone to smoke. But this was circa 1965.
No actor in Hollywood could ever play a self-important role better than Jonathan Harris. He had it down perfectly.

And the way he said, "oh the pain, the pain."
In case you were wondering, YES the middle is suppose to have no audio. I saw a russian dub and that part too had no audio.
IF something as campy as this were to premiere today….it would be a very welcome reprieve from the twisted backwards and greedy self centered world of today

I feel similarly about OTR. The old radio programs still entertain unlike so much of modern television.
The long out takes on the monsters to get a good film clip is fascinating. The furry monster at 15:00 shows how much the actor had to keep the motion, until a good segment is had.

It's thanks for uploading this dude I remember seeing it on TV back in 1997 I think it might have been 98 though I still can't believe how bad that movie was

Oh the movie, with William Hurt as John Robinson was horrible! As a fan of the original show, I was highly disappointed!! The later Netflix version was better, although it took me a while to warm up to that! Apparently, all families are dysfunctional! At least in that version, they more believably worked through it!
@Geezer-yf8hv

In the original series, the major dysfunction was 10 year old Will grabbing a laser, and running to save John and Don by shooting the Monster and saving both of them, then getting scolded by John for “leaving his post”! You would be dead A-hole if he didn’t do that!!

so much work goes in to these.
I always wondered how they had a 2 story ship.
What i like to know how were these out takes found in good shape. Who had them all this time.
those meteors look more like somebody’s been dumping their household garbage in space
Pair of jets never proved to be safe or effective today there are no such devices!
Screen tests/No sound on most of this Part 2. Still worth watching. 🌌🛸🌠 The last part is Billy Mumy & Jonathan Harris on the Jupiter II set for this production. 🌟
PLEASE - bring back that Winnebago-like camping ride feel with family and friends through the galaxy of the original! ... Perhaps with less cheezy plots but don't overdo it on the CGI, as with the reboots. .. Allow some 'flaws' with the effects so as to allow the children in us feel participating by filling in the gaps with our fantasies!
Wow
Sound is missing in 80% of video. Only a little audio in the beginning and end. Please find its audio so we can understand viseos better. I grew up with Lost in Soace 3 yesr run. Thanks for these 2 videos.
A shame this is 240p. Was it ripped from TV or a disk, why not at least 480p? Or HD? Thanks for the upload anyway.
It's funny because even today they think there's a earth like planet orbiting the closest star.
Oh no what happened to the sound??
what happened to the sound master of disaster
Closed captions?
No sound for most of this clip
Warning! Will does Playboy with the Daleks/I mean The Robot!
Disappointing over half hour of no narration. Great pity.
Sound disappears at 10.07 and doesn't return until 45.57. So, 35 mnutes of silence in the middle of this documentary, making the whole thing worthless. what aq disappointmernt...

There are similar behind the scenes shots of Boris Karloff as the Frankenstein monster. Sound wasn't a concern especially with the handheld movie cameras back then. My dad had a super 8 movie camera that he used to film family gatherings. Good pictures but no sound.
There's no sound. Very disappointing 😞
Some narration would have helped!
