I really love the chemistry that has developed between Nikki and Rana to the point that they feed off of each other so well and even occasionally finish each other's thoughts. Suraj is also settling into his role as a guide for the girls to understand certain points without spoiling. Overall another great reaction. Keep it up guys!

an interesting theory bout the psychic is that he was fake but when he read Claire he got his first real preminition. that would explaine why he looked so spooked at her reading and sent her away (but that could of course also have been part of an act).

Don't forget that the psychic convinced Claire to fly to Los Angeles around the same time as these flashbacks. The psychic gave her the ticket to Los Angeles literally the day before the flight and at the end of this episode Ecko and Libby were both at the airport getting ready to go to Los Angeles. This all happened within the same few days. A more likely theory is that the psychic told Ecko all of that because he knew Ecko needed to be on that flight as well as Claire and he didn't want the church's investigation to prevent that.

I know that in original show outlines he was going to be a fraud through and through, but those don't really matter since they're so far from the original canon. With that in mind, and with no good explanation for why someone would go to such extreme lengths to fool Claire that way plus his daughter obviously being the real deal, I've always liked to believe that he was a real psychic, and only claimed to be a fraud to try and get attention away from himself and his daughter.

This episode made me cry so, so much. I hurt for Hurley 'i'm sorry I forgot the blankets.' I hurt for Libby, I screamed at the misunderstanding "Michael!' 'He made it Libby, It's ok, It's alright.' Libbys look of shock and horror, to die in that state. oh gosh. This episode hurt so much.

I love the speech Eko gives in the Pearl station about his plane and Yemi's plane. How can you say this is meaningless? It's a good question to ask for the whole show

One theory I have on the psychic is that he was for real, like Claire realized that he knew the plane would end up on the Island so that she ends up raising Aaron. Here, the psychic must pretend to be a fraud and insist that what happened to his daughter was misconstrued as a miracle, to deflect all unwanted attention. Or, he was fake, but nevertheless for some reason intended for Claire to board that one flight that one day. Maybe he had one real flash of premonition, or something else made him try to convince Claire.

My theory was that he was 90% fraud and 10% real. He sometimes sees stuff but since it doesn't work on everyone he has to fake things as well. Or maybe he has visions of impotent people? (spoiler: people touched by J.)

I think he told Eko what he needed to hear to put him on that plane right away. The writers have said they had huge plans for Eko, and Eko did baptize Aaron, so I think there was a storyline there that was scraped.

I always thought that Richard Malkin was paid off by the parents.

Destiny is a common theme in the show. Nothing happens by random. Even the characters meeting before coming to the island is not random.

The dream at the beginning Mr. Ekko had, Yemi said the work being done in the hatch was very important. Dreams over science absolutely. So the Pearl's orientation wouldn't convince Mr. Ekko.

I think it’s apparent at this point that Locke is losing his faith slowly and Ben revealing he never pressed the button only made it worse

There is a story of a woman who went to walk to someone’s house when it was really cold. She ended up falling and freezing. She was found and brought to the hospital where she was pronounced dead but she started to thaw and her heart rate came back. They said it was a miracle because her body must’ve lost temperature at a slow enough rate where her body didn’t go into shock and die.

Malkin did give Claire 6,000 dollars to go to Los Angeles with a promise of 6,000 more when she was to arrive. So if he he was a sham and a con man, why would he hand over all that money?

Since no one seemed to mention it that wasn't actually a VHS tape, it was a U-Matic tape. U-Matic preceded both VHS and Beta and was used professionally, not by consumers. VHS and Beta came later.

Fun fact, when this episode aired it broke some TV guides because they couldn't handle such a weird episode title 🤣

This is a show with time traveling, a man who turns into a smoke monster and polar bears getting zapped to Africa lol. A psychic being legit isn't very far fetched in this context.

This episode fooled so many people... including Rana and Nikki. I mean who in the world would believe a tube would be send from an island half way across the world to the supposedly Dahrma headquarters? Glad the finale proves where the psychological experiment actually is, to bad is a little too late...

Food for thought. When Boone and Locke first discovered the plane would they have discovered the pearl if boone had not been more focussed on finding rescue and leaving the island? Like many people's dualities it appears boone's was centred around his selfishness for him and shannen getting off the island and exploring the mysteries of the island with Locke. Could he of lived? It was also said Boone was a sacrifice the island demanded. Jack relinquished some of his God complex. He accepted sometimes you can't save everyone at the cost of his own mental state every time he fails. There are other survivors to take care of. It was also Micheal who convinced him of this. Was that good Micheal or selfish Micheal?(character duealities) Locke wondered out to the hatch and questioned his faith. The light turned on. Now 2 more people died will jack save everyone and at what cost? Where is johns faith now? What will he do?

This ep is one of the reasons why I started to dislike Locke first time around and subsequently. He's SO hypocritical. He's had his own special dreams from the Island but then when someone Else does and has more faith than him in something, suddenly it's like "oh the Island told you" sarcastic kinda response. Stupid. -__-

The only Jack I know, is Bauer.

A girl drowned and came back to life a day later. That reminds me of something that happened in LA X.

I didn't spoil anything. All I said is that something in this episode reminds me of something that happens later. That in itself is not a spoiler. There are no specifics about anything to come in the series. The only thing anyone unfamiliar with the series can deduce from what I've said is that some unknown thing will happen at some point that relates back to Ecko's flashbacks in this episode. And let's be honest, if anyone watches this episode and thinks Ecko's flashbacks here are just filler and won't be relevant in any way to the story as a whole, then that person is an idiot. The flashbacks in this episode didn't provide any sort of necessary character development, so there is obviously another reason why the writers would want to show Ecko investigating the story of a girl drowning and then coming back to life.

@Paulo pereira Those two points you refer to aren't really spoilers if you think about how and when the audience first learns those names. The thing about Vincent, though, is absolutely a spoiler and it's amazing.

I always hated Eco, his episodes are always boring AF. Look at this episode, for example. Everything good about it has nothing to do with him, although he is the one getting the flashbacks. Its sad, 'cause the first time I saw him I thought he had a lotta potential.
