To be honest i was hoping for more. The tech is great, however i like my Rock Rey more in terms of looks. Biggest plus for this new rig is easy access to ESC and Servo, unlike the Rock Rey.

@@jimborghini2761 it's now not rabies just got the results but I just lost another and warned all the neighbors that it might be a mosquito born illness however I can't leave out the possibilities of water contamination or bad hay so removed the hay and burnt the residual on the ground and placed new hay and collected samples of water and hay to take to a horse hospital an hour away in Kentucky and the worst part of it all is I haven't had any new animals brought in ,in 5 months sooo..... It's not that

I love Losi I raced a Losi XXX Graphite 2wd truck for about 4yrs I won the 2003 dirt oval points championship at Coopers RC in VA and over 30 trophy's on sevral off road tracks in VA and NC This truck looks awesome guys can't wait to see it in action Climb That Hill lol 👍✌️

Cool rig. Another solid review. And the side mounted lights are usually called "ditch lights", figured that I'd share that little fun fact. I like this one a lot! The price seems well inline with a well designed RTR with good components.

I am a fan and let me tell you about the wonderful company that is Losi. Time is 1989. Modified Associated RC 10's and Kyoshu Optimas ruled the track. Then came the Losi JRX-2. It was great out of the box but it needed a few simple enexpensive mods to make it the best 2WD 10th scale buggy available. I still have one. Need new electrics to keep it going because no one is using 6 cell Ni Cd packs anymore.

I raced back in the 80's and 90's. RC10 was still the better car. I have had ALL the big race cars and always went back to the RC10. I raced in big races against the top drivers back then, RC10 was just better even though the Losi was good. ( they always beat me but I did really good against the local drivers and visitors ) I still have a JRX and JRXT in my parts bin as well as the past 1/10 scale I raced. A RC10-GT back in 2000. I have also raced 1/8 scale on and off road. A MP-5 being the last 1/8 scale off road I raced. I also have the Novarossi race engine from that GT. I raced Stock and Modified and have several parts from back then, including some NICADS and Tekin ESC. Losi builds some really good stuff though. A 2S pack will work in place of the 6cell. 7.4v vs 7.2v is not enough to matter. I used to race 7 cell 8.4v until I moved to Nitro in the latter 90's. I find it amazing that almost 30 years later, Deans Plugs are still used by several companies.

@@batsonelectronics Thanks for the reply but I disagree about a few things. I owned both the RC10 and JRX-2 and there are a couple dozen trophies in a box in the basement. The Losi car was cheaper and much better out of the box. The RC10 is tough, very tough, but that's all. The Losi has a better transmission, steering, and suspension and came with a graphite chassis and bearings. The RC10 could be made competitive with the JRX2 but required replacing every major part of the car, which I did. There were aftermarket transmissions for the RC10 that were excellent but very expensive, and the stock unit is cursed with 32-pitch gears so it cannot win races. 48-pitch gears were required for that. In 1990 you could buy the Losi for $200 and put another $100 or so in it to make it the best car available. Getting the RC10 to that level cost about twice as much and took much more work. As a result everyone stopped buying the RC10 and bought the Losi or Kyosho instead. In 1990 you could sell your RC10 and get almost full value as if it were a Harley Davidson, which I did. By 1992 the racers had abandoned their RC10's for the Losi and Kyosho. Heck, by that time Traxxas had a ready to run car that could compete well with RC10's. I know it was a long time ago but that's how I remember it. Losi and Kyosho dethroned Associated because RC cars were advancing a lot back then and the RC10 was the model T and I watched it die as far as 10th scale electrics go.

Love Losi, love your vids, but I still think it’s overpriced for a 1/10. Smart or not. Should be $75- $100 cheaper than what they are asking. Just my opinion! Looking forward to your run video!👍🏻

I agree. I get that quality products cost money, and this is definitely a quality product with great components - but what about WLtoys and the venerable 12428, which costs less than $100 and is durable and capable? Although that's not a competitor with this, there are lot of solid r/cs like the 12428 that are just as capable as name-brands that are twice or three times their price. Can the big name brands really not bring their prices down a bit? This Losi would cost over $700 CAD with tax, which is way more than I'm willing to pay for a 1/10 R/C car. Same with things like transmitters - Spektrum is a good example. They have great TXs, which are fairly beginner friendly, but you can get literally 3-10x the capability for the same price with a Turnigy or a Taranis. They seem to depend on having an ecosystem of BNF products to stay competitive. My old Turnigy 9XR is still going strong for my planes 6 years later, and it cost less than an entry level Spektrum. But, I'm new to the R/C car world and so I'm certainly open to hearing new info that would make me change my mind. :)

I just noticed instead of a 2S - 3S like the Tenacity this is 3S - 4S, I can't imagine what speed you will get from this buggy on 4S! Can't wait for the driving review!

It looks like a great truck! I also like it has real BF Goodrich KM3s on it. The KM3 is a popular off-road Mud Terrain tire for real off-road Jeeps and other vehicles...and it looks real scale on the Lasernut! I am personally looking to get some KO2s for my Forester once I can afford to get the lift and new rims. It won't get me doing any rock climbing on my Subaru, but it will get me a lot of fun and interesting places!

It’s a lot like the DB PRO and SCT Mostly Same chassis and parts. Diff size motor an diff body. Makes it a great platform an vehicle 🤙🤙🤙🤙

Amazing car; I'd just looked at the Horizon Hobby website and saw this there. In the promo video, they show it going so fast it actually crossed over water (on top) and kept going. Just so you know for next time the little lights on each side are called fog lights it so you can see through the dust in real life its nice that losi added that so if you do first person those fog lights will help see through the dust.

Just did a little research on "top race" and they look like a third party dealer. We've never dealt with them and that alone should speak volumes. I would advice against an unknown, untrusted company. Many other amazing options out there.

Question: Do the smart batteries prevent you from overdischarging them while in use? I've done this while flying my helicopters, draining the cells dangerously low.

Nope! Dude, I love this thing! My motor slid forward a bit after a really hard hit, but slid it back in place and tightened everything down and she continues to be my absolute favorite ground vehicle 😁👍⚓😎
