YES to Zaniolo. Hes had to learn to walk again under Emery but now starting to fire. We also really need a stronger physical presence. Carlos, Duran amd Zaniolo tick those boxes. Any doubters should watch the Arsenal pitchside video. He had two on him at all times but still held them off. Unai knows what he's doing. Even AFTV were raving about him.

What makes the result against arsenal so good is the fact that before the game there wasn't anybody that thought we would of won!! Literally EVERYONE completely wrote us off!! Just goes to show how good this team really is!! In regards to signing zaniolo permanently?? There's without doubt a very good player in there, personally I think he needs to be settled before we see the best of him?? It's a gamble but it comes down to the price!! UTV

We would not have won that game on Sunday without Zaniolo. If we get into CL we should sign him in my opinion 👍

Zaniolo got talent without doubt was rated one of the best kids in Europe before he did his knee.His got that X factor and drives forward just needed time to settle. Preseason under Emery will be better for it. 20 to 25 mill good value.

Watkins has improved phenomenally. He is a great player now, but the scary thing is that he still isn’t the finished product, which is scary and definitely will improve even further!!! 😄👍💜💙

I think this is going to be a very tough game for us. But then I also thought that about the Arsenal game. Lille will be hard to play against at home. And as we saw on Sunday we will be hard to play against away. So c’mon Villa we’re cheering you on! Make us all proud! UTV 💜

Rogers IS a good utility player and can play anywhere like Des Bremner or Frank Carrodus - he’ll be a big asset for us going forward

I agree with Justin rogers needed that period to g with the team and was fortunate to get the playing time with the injuries and he’s taken good advantage of it proved himself difficult to come mid season to a top team from champt

I would like to see Watkins hit 20 plus goals over multiple seasons. The improvement in him over Emrey’s time at the Villa has been impressive and before that he has shown improvement season on season. He’s quality no doubt it’s just that consistency now season after season UTV

@@jimmypopt.v.3037 Probably more of an age thing although with Yorke, let's say "I've met him". Not a nice guy. Actually quite the twat. I was just starting to understand football when he moved to Man Utd for £12m and that was a big deal for me. Tbf to him that partnership with Cole going through that CL win during the treble made me fall in love with football. So his Man Utd career in many ways is bigger to me than his Villa career (and I don't like typing that).

Im a big fan of Rogers already. Watching him and Zaniolo together gives Villa a much different way of playing, the team look like bullies due to their size and character and sometimes it feels like we have needed that in some games

Zaniola reminds me of Albrighton In terms of his desire . He won't fail . We should sign him definitely also I'm pretty sure his natural position is on the right and that is also useful . Rogers will be moved the middle so that will free up a player on the left .even as a squad player will be needed .if Ramsey doesn't keep getting injured . Ramsey on the left Rogers as a number 10 Watkins as the striker and Bailey's on the right all in free flow that's a a very dangerous attack 👍🏻💪

Before Arsenal I was predicting it would be another 1-1 with Zaniolo scoring, he only ever scores in crucial 1-1 draws for us, and I could just seeing it happening! However... I think Arsenal will prove to be the blueprint for this. Be very defensive in a mid block of course, but still be brave and move forward, find ways to ruin their momentum. Lille won a lot of their duels at VP but we won many at Arsenal so I wonder if we were almost saving ourselves a bit at VP?? Still think now that we win it, it's gonna be very very tough but the lads will be up for it! UTV

Zaniolo stays for me. I like what he brings to the team when he comes on, hes a physical battering ram like Duran. I think with a little time he'll start bagging for us. And as for Rodgers mate, hes basically Ramsey 2,0 in my mind. To have one player Like Ramsey is a blessing. But to have 2 is fantastic :D

Hi Guys great poddy as per usual , i said this from day 1 as regards Zaniolo , he is an absolute baller , with Morgan as well we have become so bullish , plenty of grit , and what a performance mate sunday , omg our away end !! frightening , really scary , what a day !! do you know what the icing of Unai's masterclass was when Moreno played with Digne on the left side masterclass , White had no answer , he was run ragged , hardly in our half , tactical genius and this was no fluke either , we deserved it , Rice also never ventured in our half , play 75% to that performance v Lille and we are there mate semi finals .disgree slightly with Justin as regards Zaniolo no brainer for me esp alongside Morgan and McGinn absolute NO BRAINER

Rogers is going to be some player, lets not rush him and expect him to be ready next year, needs time to flourish and grow and Emery is perfect to help develop him. Zaniolo, id sign him as long as we have the funds, hes a different profile to what we have and he will improve under Emery. Lille game, we play like we did against arsenal we win, we cant let them score first or momentum will be with them. Can see Zaniolo scoring for us! Can see us winning 2-1, utv!

The best out and out striker for me was Andy Gray, but Ollie Watkins all-around play is better. If he can continue this form into next season then he will be the best ever Villa striker. I thought the same as you , they play the same as us.

Zaniolo is 50\50. There are arguments to be made for and against his signing. There's clearly a player in there trying to get out but the figure that has been quoted for his signature (30 ish million I believe) is a very clear stumbling block and is difficult to justify. I'd take a punt on him but only at a reduced fee and with caveats attached.

Rogers is pure class, potentially even better than Ramsey, will be there soon I think

Keep Zaniolo. Big game player. Just attemps a bit too much in smaller games. People that disagree now will change their minds when he gets a goal in the ECL final or another massive game. The money could probably be spent on someone more useful throughout a season but I like a clutch player. Madridstas didn't like Bale for a long time but he scored in like 3 consecutive CL finals. Without him they probably dont have those trophies. (Ps not comparing Zaniolo to Bale)

Zaniolo could win us the league and shit golden eggs if he likes. He's just not good enough, minus the random goal he pops up with. He's not the profile we needs and he does not fit in. Does he improve us? Is he better than the other players that we tend to play out wide? Ramsey? Buendia? McGinn? Rogers? Tielemans? Bailey? He's lucky if any of those players even let him clean their boots for them. Let's focus on signings that improve us now, or in the long run. He is neither.

I think Morgan removes the need to sign Zaniolo. He would be a luxury and we don't have the financial space. I also think we sign a cheaper CD than Lenglet. If we sell Ramsay then maybe we keep Zanilo but I would prefer Ramsay. Ramsay's injuries might mean we weep him for another year.

The thing that got on my nerves with Watkins was the amount of touches he used to take before he took a shot at goal, he has improved ten fold in that respect, I think Zaniolo will go back to Italy, yes he had a good game on Sunday but for me he has only been a bit part player and i would of liked to see a lot more of his true potential, Rogers reminds me a lot of Collymore and will turn out to be one hell of a good player, the lille game will be an even tougher than the Arsenal match but I think we will get through to the semi finals 🤞

On Watkins... It's taken this long for him to win over the majority of our fan base, the next thing is convincing the media if u want him to be a regular for England, for me I think being in the England squad turned Grealish head into leaving Villa, as much as I'd love to see Ollie, Ezri and any of our English lads get called up for the sence of pride and achievement, but the extra worry of injuries, getting tapped up by "bigger clubs" and negative criticism should Southgate get it wrong is something we can do without. Looking forward to Lille, after a huge effort against city at home, the follow up fixture showed us although we beat arsenal, it took everything having played so hard the previous game, the players looked leggy, comparing that double header to this week's Arsenal Lille game week, I'm expecting a good performance but I think it will be at a much slower tempo due to the physical and mental exhaustion from Sundays game, the momentum should be there to see us get the job done in France, but I think it will be a nervy effort like the arsenal at home game was... As long as we don't concede in the first half, it will ramp up the pressure in the stadium on Lille and that should open the game up in our favour, if they score first, it's all about how we handle the nerves, but I think we do enough to get through to the semi finals

Zaniolo is becoming a proper player under Unai Emery and the club must keep him, he's big he's strong and by God he's only going to get better plus he really loves the club and wants to stay, you can see it in his mannerisms. So l say most definitely keep, he's going to be a baller.. Now if Lille is as good as Arsenal which there are not then Villa can scruff these Lille lads and do a number on them especially after playing themselves back into that ripping form where we just plough oppositions apart. Added to that, the premiums for a youth and being English, I see him being One of the options if they want to make sales. To us fans it will be different but on the market he's probably worth as much or more than McGinn.

I would personally take Zaniolo on a permanent basis,I think we're gonna start to see the best of him now,the guy has had a lot to deal with coming to a new country,league,club & that gambling shit that never was,so sometimes it takes time & we need a strong squad with plenty of different options moving forward. Also Lenglet might be worth signing as well, he's done quite well for us & I think we could get him in for very little,with Barca in massive financial difficulties I believe they'll be glad to off his wages & a maybe £1 million fee + if Lenglet would take a cut in wages to come to us it's worth a look at. We already know these guys fit in good, better the devil you know,than the devil you don't....... up the mighty Villa!!!!
