That’s some mighty fine guitar playin’ right there.
I sang with Los Lobos 30 years ago in Kemah, Texas at my daddy's benefit. I was completely unaware that I was going to be asked to sing with them as this had been planned without my knowledge. I was both scared and completely surprised at this wonderful opportunity. The deal was that everytime I got up to sing cash donations were put into a glass bowl on top of the piano on the stage. I was so thankful for the kindness and generosity of Los Lobos during this time in my life of the loss of my daddy. I will always remember this truly remarkable event. Kudos to Los Lobos and God bless each of you. Respectfully, Irmajean Heaton 🙏♥️

The 80s WAS THE GREATEST DECADE EVER INCLUDING MOVIES AND MUSIC TALENT
La Bamba, brought to us from the Mexican oral history, sung at weddings during the 1800s, first song in Spanish to make the American charts by the late Mexican-American Rock'n'Roll singer, Richie Valens around 1958 or so... this newer musical version by Los Lobos with their superb guitar work KILT this song... look at the crowds MOVE to the music! Coño!

Rare is the occasion a cover version outdoes the original, but David Hidalgo, Cesar Rojas and Los Lobos did it in 1987 with their cover of "La Bamba". Ritchie Valens' 1958 original is consigned to immortality. But this is so good.

I was raised in LA near San Fernando - low rider music in low rider country. And then I moved to Santa Cruz which is right next to Watsonville. Such great memories.
There is something universal about a great band playing live like they are on fire and the crowd loves how authentic it is and for a few minutes everyone is in sync enjoying themselves like they seldom can. The musicians know they are driving the people and give it all they have. No one is pretentious and NO CELL PHONES
