I'm reading a novel where the protagonist lives in Frog Town in the 1990's, and the descriptions made me curious. Thank you for this!

Frogtown Riverside is my hometown with fondest memories of its simplicity and purity in the heart of Los Angeles.

What amazing memories i have of living in Frogtown, playing baseball and watching the Dodgers and of course the beautiful Doris Place! Moved away when i was about 12 but still in my heart.

Thank you for making this video. My dad has told me many stories about his childhood. How he single handedly kicked all the original members of the Avenues asses , Doris Place elementary, the "okies" that were his friends, Marshall High, how he was poor and always hungry, but still got straight A's out of pride. The thing he still currently talks about is the LA Dodgers, and the LA River. He told me The LA river was his playground. He hates computers and cell phones, but I think he will enjoy this video. BTW pops is 70 and our last name is Balderrama. My uncle, his little brother, Paul passed about 20 years ago. The oakies, that I mentioned were the Clores, and Mendes'(half breed Irish/Mexican, but oakie to the bone). My uncles friend was some guy with the surname Madrid. My dad was impressed with upperclassmen Eddie Pacheco, and Steven Montoya, and I say this because every time he gets drunk, he tells me that the two I just mentioned would have kicked the asses of all the white boys I hang out with. I guess, Im what you call a coconut, but its not my fault. I grew up in West Covina when it was majority white.
