The problem with newer dress watches at this price point is their size. They're all freaking huge! At least Lorier went small which is always the right choice in a dress watch.

I think for a majority of people spending a lot of money on a dress watch doesn't make much sense in relation to how often they would likely wear it. I think this fits that niche perfectly, and does so with color and style. The size is also welcomingly unique. From a guy who wears a dress watch to cut the grass, I welcome it! Haha Very thoughtful and insightful presentation, Xavier.

Agreed, my most expensive watch is a dress watch but I’m the outlier 😂 I think this is a fun and unique option that is reasonable. I don’t quite cut the grass with a dress watch on, I have to use seikos for something! Thank you for watching matthew

@@theknightswatch You are not alone! I also can't imagine myself to spend on luxury sports watches, especially divers. I really don't need them and I always can find a better dress watch to buy.

Wow, I've already added it to my list. Striking dial but understated design. And I love the dimensions. At 8.5mm it'll actually slide under my cuffs unlike most 12-15mm watches at this price point.

Dress Watches can be worn even without a suit. Don't you ever wear a shirt and chinos? A shirt and a blazer? A shirt and sweater and jeans.? This kind on casual wardrobe goes along very well with both sport and dress Watches.

The white dial sold out in no time. I could see myself wearing it on a daily basis, though my wrist, at 7.25", is pretty big. I appreciate the macro shots and analysis.

The case to me has the right amount detail for a dress watch of this design. The case shape is not a lazy flat rectangular case like a lot of more expensive watches tend to be. The case is stepped and adds more dimension vertically to the watch instead of a flat rectangle. It has a style that will never go out of style and build quality you can pass on to the next generation. 😄

Nicely presented as usual. These days the world is more casual than in times past so folks tend to think of the dress watch as something that is not for their lifestyle. I say try wearing this style of watch just hanging out with friends or going to the supermarket, whatever and you will really enjoy it. It's a cool experience! Don't follow the herd. Can't figure why we don't see more tonneau cases, they are infinitely better than rectangulars being wider and allowing longer more legible hands. Lorier did a nice job bringing something classy to market for a friendly price.

Agreed Chris, I think a lot of people get to wrapped up in categories of watch. But it’s not a sports watch with 200m of water resistance even though I never take my watch in water. If you like the design just wear it. It’s very rare anyone else ever notices what your wearing so wear it for you!
