Nice to see someone playing Velo reanimate finally, loved playing around with it since it came into standard. Latest iteration is a deck featuring Isshin, Velomachus, Jin Gitaxis and lots of invokes. Love it.

No joke, not that long ago I was part of a tank crew in Hell let Loose and after we destroyed an American tank in an ambush, our commander casually said, "and our opponent explodes. Sweet, onto the next one." Turns out, that our driver and me are magic players as well. After that what followed was about 45 minutes of nothing but magic jokes. :D

The way you are able to logically and calmly continue playing as your opponent plays counter spell after counter spell and hullbreaker horror is just legendary to me. I would’ve tilted so much sooner lmao.

That opponent was clearly not too familiar with how to play Hullbreaker. They could have and should have won that game.

Talk about tenacity and resiliency... I know a lot of players that would have scooped after Hulkbreaker Horror came down but you got the W. Truly a legend 💪🏽

I love decks with velomachos lorehold. I personally think it’s such a fun and great card

Thanks for posting. I’ve had a lot of fun playing this deck. I tweaked it by cutting two lands and adding two copies of Kaya’s Onslaught. Gives something else to do on turn two and allows lethal out of no where if you can invoke Velomachus and play the onslaught.

Games like Match 1 are my favorite LVD games to watch!

I've been enjoying the Historic Brawl content much more these days, but this was an awesome standard build! Going well over top of the runes deck at the end was very satisfying.

sometimes you just gotta cast sunset revelry when you have the same amount of creatures, cards in hand and life total as your opponent.

I mean, any big bomb is always nice with reanimation. Invoke Justice + Returned Pastcaller is more of a direct "infinite combo". And as Cole says, Kairi does it even better!

I had a similar brew to this but only using velomachus and goldspan, Pastcaller is an awesome inclusion to keep the justice invoking, I love it!

This was my first ever deck I grinded for on Arena, modified it slightly over time when new capenna came out so it was a little bit more efficient (Big score over Unexpected windfall, enchantment removal because Naya Runes was still top dog at the time.) I am still kinda sad that it got rotated out of standard, but I had fun times nonetheless with it! I also loved it even people unknowingly wipe the board after I played Emeria's call. I think my dumbest moment was when I just kept copying Kiki-jiki for an entire army just to stay alive, eventually getting the invoke for the win Keep it up LVD!

I changed the pastcaller with the red invoke to directly cast the white invoke again out of the graveyard 👌 also put some burn down the house instead of the fable… does very well

Fair play to pushing through the absurdly pushed Hullbreaker Horror. I don't understand how putting such keywords on a card and then letting it "Counter" Uncounterable stuff by interacting with the stack by sending them back to the hand before they resolve was a fun thing to print. Too many cards since the FIRE design philosophy just win games all by themselves.

Hm, I hadn't heard of FIRE specifically, I did find an article "F.I.R.E.-ING IT UP" but that's more about commons being less boring - which I am generally a fan of. It seems like Hullbreaker Horror being OP is more the same thing they've been doing forever, where a few rares get pushed way too much, and it's just laughable when you compare to the median card in the set. But maybe it got even worse with FIRE I dunno. To me "new world order" where they explicitly decided to keep commons "simple" was where they just officially committed to a minority of cards being way better than others - but it's not like that wasn't an evolution of what they've been doing from the start.

I wonder if jeskai velomacus reanimator is viable what with late to dinner and running time warp plus the invoke justice pastr recaller and treasures from this deck covering multi colour

This pretty much the list I run. Xcept I added 4 rip apart to deal with 90% of the decks (Enchantment meta)

At 32:27 there is a funny bug where you can see the next card you'll draw for no reason at all

I think it is the card on the top of your deck before shuffling. The fact that LVD draws it on the next turn is just random.

Idk if you've done a vid on it yet, but if not you really oughta try out the minion of the mighty turn 2 otk

Ahhh... Legends Vids are so entertaining. At 19:29 a 1/1 Token of the opponent attacked "The Wandering Emperor" and she said "back off" as the token had hit her. I had to laugh at that... lol.. "back off", sometimes these comments of the Planeswalkers are really funny.

15:44 Could it have been better to play out the Pathway to Invoke Justice your Emperor in the yard back? Then when they go to bounce their Horror, you could've flashed the Emperor in your hand in response to finally exile the thing. EDIT / spoiler: Either way, it worked out! Just curious about that potential line of play. Seems like it would've lined up well :) This video was fantastic and watching a deck this resilient is so much fun. I'd love to see you build Olivia, Crimson Bride in Historic Brawl! I built her as a FTP player and the deck is a ton of fun and super resilient. Would love to see what shenanigans you could pull with all the wildcards in the world!

I have seen lists running revitalize in main to keep that life total up fyi

i have been using this deck in mythic. the returned past caller fits perfectly with justice really annoying. I get in trouble playing with mono black decks with this deck.

Anyone have an idea for this on historic ? Love reanimator decks with Velomachus

I’ve seen a similar deck in historic. It’s expensive though. It uses ramp and loot effects along with Velomachus, unburial rites, mizzix’s mastery, and then Serra’s emissary to lock up the game. Invoke justice could probably replace the unburial rites slot.

@@pnkseven Yea I’ve seen a video of a deck similar to that one too. The best Velomachus historic deck was the time warp one but that got banned out of existence.

In that first match at 14:27 , the opponent would have fared WAY better, had they waited until the second emperor landed, then in response to the exile, killed it, and bounced their own horror.

It's a lot of fun attacking with big hastey dragons! And this deck has a control aspect that most attacking decks don't have thanks to cards like wandering emperor, fateful absence, and all the red removal. And weirdly enough it does outgrind a lot of control decks as you constantly bring back your threats!

Match 1 was a real azorius smooth brain
