Not the last episode. Sonic Superstars ZP was out, albeit in Early Access for subscribers, at the the time of the firings. Then Spiderman 2 ZP came out today. That’s the last one.

Nah, better than them cutting him. They cut Nick, and only Nick. Everyone else just said "fuck you" and almost the entire company quit. With the ones remaining still on good terms, suggesting it's either contract issues or them just not having the cash to be between jobs atm.

It's a 3-minute review, but I closed out the tab already, and can't even remember which one it was. The channel's own introduction was two spots down as a matter of fact.

How fitting that a series called Zero Punctuation will come to a close so suddenly

Give Yahtzee his library, and the IP rights, completely uncensored. ZP is built on him and he's made this channel and your website worth coming to for sixteen years, at least ten of which Yahtzee has been the sole driving force for content on your platforms.

What a run. Zero Punctuation was easily my favorite review series to watch on KZread. Sad to see it go so abruptly. Nothing lasts forever. Just like the escapist now

One of my favourite patches of all time was how they updated it to delay the lift gates shutting so fast so we could step back on and get off to send it back up. Huge QOL update and huge respect for the devs for all of their efforts, even with small things like that.

Good, but even better would be that once you've used an elevator once, they always automatically preemptively ascend or descend to your current level as you approach them. And for them to default to the most convenient location following fast travel usage. I don't so much mind elevator rides themselves, but waiting to get on the elevator in the first place suuuucks.

Just too bad Elden Ring's designers didn't do that too. Would it really have been that hard to make elevators at the beginnings of mini-dungeons start at the top again every time you died and got booted back to the starting Grace?

I thought there was already a game called Lords of the Fallen and my friends insisted I was mis-remembering things and it really drove me crazy for a while there. I was sure this was a sequel but it seemed like I was the only person in my friend group who remembered the first Lords of the Fallen. Now I know I’m not crazy. Thanks, Yahtz. Edit: the funny thing is, I actually went back to check, and I actually platinumed the original Lords of the Fallen. How did I forget about a game I completed?.

I feel you man. ZP is like the only think I have genuine hipster cred with! Been watching it since literally the Fable review, when The Darkness demo review was his only other video... 16 years! 16 long and wonderful years. Literally half my life of watching his videos ~weekly.

You either love him or hate him, but as someone in his mid 30's now, I remember when Yahtzee appeared on the scene in 2007 almost a half a life time ago and how much of a fresh breath of air he was. He really did pioneer the 'outsider' reviewer and gave no shits about towing the line at a time when public video uploading was in its infancy.

The end of ZP. Welcome, let us join hands as we enjoy the last one. Lords of Fallen indeed.

I can't tell if that was an editing oversight or a deliberate joke.

I find it extremely weird that they reused the name 'lords of the fallen'. The idea is of course that you'll sell more copies because people remember the original fondly. But the thing is, not many people liked the original 'lords of the fallen' very much, people called it clunky and so on. Either you forgot about it or you remember it being not very good. And yet I caught myself somewhat anticipating the release. It must mean that they significantly improved, right? Oh, it's from a completely new developer. Oh well. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I guess our advanced monkey neurons just kinda activate when seeing something having the same title as something that came before, Idk

My memories of the time had LOTF sit in this weird space where it was commended for being one of the firsts to try compete with Dark Souls and the effort was commendable even if the game was a little below average. The Surge was what I saw people get real sour on, since LOTF was kinda easy to cheese whereas The Surge was full of unbelievable bullshit. The Surge 2 is when people finally warmed up to these guys again, it seemed like they were actually learning lessons so for anyone who remembers the first LOTF, LOTF 2023 is like that shit local team who finally got a decent coach and upped their fitness and now they're back to face off against the guys who embarrassed them early in their career. It's hard not to root for these guys, but I'd personally we rather all learn the other cool lessons Dark Souls taught back in the day. Intricate level design, considered bosses, environmental storytelling, and the concept of "tough but fair". Even FromSoft doesn't remember that last one, sometimes, I'm tired of bosses with seemingly endless combos and a one hit opening

It's so weird in this case, because I think usually companies make sequels to exploit the audience's established trust, or they'll reboot a franchise in hopes to attracting that huge audience of the franchises golden age, that got investors so much profit and so many jets and cars and yachts. In this case though, it doesn't make any sense from a marketing perspective (which keeps taking over more and more the decision making process of not just video game, but media companies in general). It almost seems like the publisher is somehow really invested in the idea of this game or at least its name... Or maybe they're too uncreative to think of a new name for their second try? I really can't think of any other reason to reuse a title of a game that most people never knew, forgot or hated, and only like 5 people probably liked

Imagine this being more or less the last review Yahtzee does with Zero Punctuation since he DOESN'T HAVE THE RIGHTS TO THE SHOW AND RESIGNED TODAY

I thought I was going insane when I saw this in my subscriptions and was like “what the hell, I could swear Yahtzee already did this game some years ago??”

RIP Zero Punctuation 2007- 2023 Easily one of the last great KZread relics, it’s both interesting and sad that, unless they release the Sonic episode outside of Patreon, publicly this is the last ever episode of Zero Punctuation.

I always thought that The Escapist was just another name for Zero Punctuation. I guess it just means "dead website ran by greedy asshats." I will be following Yahtzee wherever he chooses to host his next show.

Quite an ironic title for the final ever ZP. But the amount of other people The Escapist have done dirty to over the years, I'm amazed you've lasted this long. So glad I turned them down years ago.

...I genuinely didn't know this was a separate game until seeing this review.

I’m curious did anyone who says this watch at least the first reveal trailer? The reboot literally looked nothing like the OG yet people are saying they thought it was some remaster/rerelease.
