Honestly it was never really completely confirmed. For those of you who wonder, how did Bram Stoker, take Vlad Tepes, and made it into Dracula, it is quite simple. It is said that Vlad impaled his entire court for co-operating with the Terks, and that was their punishment, along with any other traitor or Turk, it was rumored that the wine he drank upon the corpses of those who were impaled, was actually their blood, causing the roomers that he was a vampire. At birth, it is said all the angels in his father's castle, started to cry blood, which started the rumor that he was a demo, and is said that several priests tried to kill him, but were stopped, and when he became count, one of the last surviving priests tried to assassinate him. And from all the stories of how he was a mighty warrior, the best in all of (V)Wallachia. These are what caused Bram Stoker to base his novel off of the famous Vlad Dracul. (ironically Tepes means Impaler) (Dracul means Dragon) Your Welcome

People hate it because it is simply a superhero movie with lots of cliche like the fight beetween dracula and fatih. First dracula get beaten up even with his godlike powers but then heroically saves the day. Classic holywood. Dracula is not a hero or villain in the original series.

I finally saw this movie. It's so good!!!!

I don't know why so many people hated this movie. It had a pretty good story, enough action scenes to balance out the slow bits, and enough emotion to make you feel for the monster.

I don't think it's that bad, it doesn't focus much on the satanic side of it, if focuses more on the fact that he did what he did to protect his family and his people and his struggle with the curse. He doesn't go around killing random people because he's "demon possessed" or whatever, he only kills enemy soldiers who try to kill his people. He resists his sudden thirst for blood because it disgusts him and he doesn't want to give in to the demon who's powers he borrowed. Overall I think it was a great movie. Intelligently written and very well directed, not to mention the special effects are fantastic. You'd really be missing out if you didn't watch it, but I respect peoples beliefs so if you think you shouldn't watch it that's up to you. Hope I helped :)

Yeah I love both versions, one is a song from the 80s that I have absolutely loved since I could talk, like it was one of the first songs I knew all the lyrics too. Second is a badass, menacing as hell, cover of a song I've loved for what feels like my entire 19 years of existence.

The song captures the essence of the movie beautifully! Luke Evans did a fantastic job bringing the myth & the real life of Dracula together. Hot body too!

I wouldnt compare the Movie to Terminator, Alien etc. but by just regarding the pace of the movie, I find it is as perfect. From the beginning to very end, written and directed so perfectly! And theyve chosen so well with Luke Evans as Dracula. Could have been the start of a new Dracula Movie Era with him but I dont comprehend why they didnt do it. He only gets older :( ... I mean there was even a little cliffhanger at the end...

Feels like this will be the closest adaptation of a real life Hellsing Ultimate Alucard. I actually didn't mind this movie and I really like this version of the song. Cheers

Haha, thought it's the trailer already. But nice one, sounds great and fits perfect for the whole gothic theme of Dracula. Too bad, this was already used in HG: Catching Fire. Though Dracula's ost should have the same kind of feel/ impression as this is!

Sean Smith Saw it, it's here already. Is that official? Seems very early for its release date, almost 3-4mos from now. They did use this Lorde's song on the trailer. The story seems humanizing a monster and immortalizing a hero, super-Batman it is! Hehe! Though the director seems new one; he'd have to really work good, like x10 effort, it's his debut, a make or break for him. Good luck to them!

originally was supposed to come out in August, but Universal pushed to October 3rd. Then they pushed it to October 17th. I guess they want a Halloween feel. I read that they might do what Marvel did, create a cinematic universe for their monster films. So far they are rebooting the Mummy and Van Helsing and some writers are doing The Invisible Man and Frankenstein. This could be the start of their franchise. Hopefully.

Sean Smith Just realized a little bit late actually on this trailer. Some movies can even go as early as 6-7mos trailer release. I guess enough time to weigh people's interests or to even make last minute changes on critical points.

This movie makes me so sad with the endless amounts of missed potential. It could have been SO good! Unfortunately, it was crippled by not only a needlessly convoluted subplot that went nowhere, (in an effort to set up for a string of sequels) but also by a PG13 rating. If it had been rated R, and the producers had green lighted the amount of blood, gore, and violence that a TRUE vampire flick needs to shine, it would have been amazing. That being said, I loved this movie. The casting was great, the acting was actually surprisingly good, the special effects were fucking gorgeous, and the music was absolutely beautiful. Not to mention, that the action beats that we DID get, were absolutely awesome. A solid part of my love for this movie is probably my absolute obsession with Vampires. But hey, we all have our little problems. And before any of you say anything, I said Vampires, not sparkly fey creatures that glitter in the sun.

It's been 4 years, but I agree they have to let Dracula go full Dracula. If you don't, what's the point? Movie was ok though. Could've been great.

The ending gave me some insane chills. The way she said it made me feel like something bad is gonna happen ; ^ ;

This movie had an incredible score.
