When Aragorn kicks that helmet, then screams? You got it spot on. Viggo Mortensen broke his toe on that kick, and that scream was a scream of pain that he worked into the scene. They kept the original cut of him breaking his toe.

They actually did the scene over and over again and then he broke the toe on the final cut and used it; repetitive use injury.

Treebeard was supposedly based off C.S. Lewis, who wrote The Chronicles of Narnia (those movies are also worth reacting to if you've never seen them, especially the 1st one). Lewis and Tolkien were best friends, and Lewis was actually the one who encouraged Tolkien to write and publish LOTR. He in turn put Tolkien into his books as the professor who owns the Wardrobe, which acts as a portal to Narnia in the first book/movie. Also I don't know if you already knew about Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn) breaking his toe or if you calling it was just a lucky coincidence, but that's literally what happened when he kicked the helmet 😂 It's been a long-running meme amongst LOTR fans to point that out every time the movie gets to that scene lol

Horse training is amazing! Did you see Nope? (If not I’d love to see a reaction to that). Horses are about as smart as a 3 year old and you can train behaviors for a shot like pulling away. Aragorn’s actor also went very method with working with the horse. He slept in the stall with the horse for days and spent time together constantly to form a bond. He ended up buying him and taking him home at the end of filming.

Things you may have missed: (1) All 3 LOTR movies were filmed at the same time. The cast and crew pretty much moved to New Zealand. The Hobbit village set is now a tourist attraction, and you can visit and walk through it. (2) Please move past the Hobbit’s feet, truly. EVERYONE knows you see them. (3) Remember it’s Elvish rope from Lady Galadriel. (4) Gollum is unusually strong, but he’s also been driven mad by the ring. Remember he was alone with the ring for 500 years. You saw what it did to Bilbo for 40 years, imagine 500. (5) Gollum/Smeagol are the same… the good (Smeagol) and bad (Gollum). (6) You missed the clue that Pippin left for Aragon. (7) “Some men just want to watch the world burn”. (8) Theoden king of Rohan is possessed by Saruman which is why he looks the way he looks. (9) The trees are talking because Fanghorn Forest is a living entity. (10) He DID break his toe while filming that scene. (11) Gandalf leveled up! Now he is a white wizard. More powerful than Saruman. (12) Gandalf wears the grey cloak so that no one notices that he’s leveled up. (13) The Ent's voice is the same as Gimli. (14) Don’t forget the cloaks are gifts from Galadriel and have magic to help them hide. (15) The funeral song is actually played out in the extended version. (16) Gandalf went looking for the riders that were banished earlier. He tells Aragon to look for him on the 5th day (“On the 5th day, looks to the east”.) Stick with them, you're doing great. THANKS FOR SHARING. ~be well~

Cue music from Queen, "It's a Kind of Magic". But in the books, Strider was trained by Elrond. And because Aragorn comes from the ancient line of Numenor, the proto-Humans basically like Methuselah and sons in the Bible living for centuries, well, he has Special Ancient Human Magic in his bloodline, too. Special Ancient Human Magic plus RIvendell Foster Care Elf Nature Magic sleepaway camp, and we end up with Aragorn being able to track over bare rock.

I've been following you since I heard Sista Strong Jaw, for the 1st time! It's so sad, to me, that you didn't have the chance to watch these films before you watched the authors/books/films/shows Tolkien influenced. Tolkien is essentially the High King of High/Epic Fantasy. No one could truthfully say otherwise. Tolkien did it 1st. In addition to the world creation Tolkien created the many languages & writings you see in these films. The several dialects of Elvish (Quenya, Sindarin, etc.), Rohirric, Dwarfish (Khuzdul), Black Speech, Orchish, etc. Then there's the scripts tengwar & cirth. 29:11 • Gandalf has many names. His original name is Olórin (Quenya, High Elvish), Mithrandir (Sindarin, Grey Elvish), Incánus, Tharkûn (Dwarfish) Greyhame, Stormcrow, Old Grey Beard, Big Grey Beard, Láthspell, Guardian of the Third Age, Gandalf the Grey, Gandalf the White, White Rider, White Pilgrim, etc.

Aragorn has foresight. Not the super detailed kind that Elrond or other Elves have. But he gets hit with big hunches that something should or should not be done. He feels strongly that Grima ( Wormtoung is the nickname the people gave him) has something important to do. Besides, there's not much Grima can tell Saruman. Grima is a mortal, and Saruman has been living in Orthanc, that tower in Isingard, for more than 1500 years. Since long before The Horse Lords were gifted that land by Gondor.

Although i love the trilogy, the two towers is for me the weakest of the three (return of the king being my fave). Great to see you take this series back up! and enjoyed the reaction.

Everyone who reacts to these movies always see Gandalf as an old man. Gandalf is not an old man he is a wizard. The body you see is merely the body he has chosen. Wizards are powerful beings not old men with a couple of spells.

Okay. I can't let this slide. Now I know he's trolling because he insists that "Lord of the Rings" is like "Wheel of time" and we ALL know it's the other way around, except W.O.T. is far less superior
