Tony, Johanna, and Joe from Movie Dumpster go on a quest to revisit The Two Towers 20 years after it hit theaters. In this movie review/podcast of the second live action Lord of the rings film they will discuss all the things they think make the movie great. Like the top notch special effects, how it expertly adapts the source material, and the amazing set design.

I'm pretty sure the Nazgul were using horses because they were still trying to be sneaky at that point. Now they're just "Well everyone knows now"

The elves barely even have to eat and when they're living in Valinor it's essentially heaven it's whatever they feel like doing they can do if they want to eat or not eat at least that's how I've always seen it since when in Valinor they're under the gaze of their gods entirely for all time
The 2 towers is the movie that got me into Lord of the Rings, I went to see it for a friend's birthday party and at no clue what it was and yet it's a sequel I still felt I wasn't lost this is a great film in the series
Yo Tony - thank you for providing quality content to KZread. I appreciate ya and hope you have a great Christmas.

Seconded
From what I remember the Ents and the Entwives went separate ways, because the men were only focused on planting forests all over the land, while the women were focused on the beauty of things, Treebeard mentions that seeing areas full of flowers could be signs that an Entwife has been through there.

Every weekend I visit Helms deep or "Hjelms Dyb" which is located north of Djursland, Denmark. It's a bay that often has good waves and a beautiful cliff. No orks though.

The ents are not really trees. They share some traits like only being able to drink but their skin just looks like tree bark. Reading the books I always thought they were similar to the trols, since the trols were created as a distorted replica of them. They should have lungs and the rest.
I've only seen this movie once or twice but I never noticed that Gandalf had Christopher Lee's voice. I should rewatch these movies
Great episode. Everyone was on-point here. It's hard to believe it's been a year since the Fellowship episode!

I can't decide which of the first two LOTR movies I like better. Fellowship has better pacing and tells a more conventional story. But the action scenes in The Two Towers is so much better. Plus Aragon kicks more butt in it.

On the contrary, I find this by far the weakest of the trilogy. Feels so padded and stretched out. Somewhat of a slog to get through. So much walking and so little story progression. I've watched the other two dozens of times, but I've only watched this one maybe twice.
Alright! A Jo-Jo episode! Haven't watched any of them in a long time but this is probably my favourite of the three.
The balrog didn't fly because it was falling down a hole where it couldn't actually spread it's wings and yes, Haldir (The Elf General) was in Fellowship. "The dwarf breaths so loudly, we could've shot him in the dark."
I'll tell this story again when you guys do Return of the King, but I was working as a projectionist at the time and accidentally set that print on fire lol. Only one of these movies I saw in theatres. Edit: I set it on fire opening night.

That was such a frustrating view for hardcore fans of LOTR, like, so many misunderstandings and mistakes... This video is similar. But I think that's the point of Hack the movies, right? To relate with casual audiences. But they show real knowledge about some movies...
I remember watching it on two bootleg cds. I didn't mind the quality of the video. Then when I got a better version I was blown away again. And I keep watching extended version from time to time.

"What do your elf eyes see" is because Elves in that universe. See the world as a flat thing before the shaping of what it it is. This is why they are the only ones who can navigate back to the elven home lands because only they can see the way. So asking this Aragorn knows Legolas can see exactly where they are from their current position.

@@HackTheMovies I know I saw the first few movies, they did nothing for me, and people that are big fans of the franchise have defended it to me by saying stuff like “Well, if you read all the books, look at this other extra stuff, watch these reviews, and rewatch the movies again, you’ll LOVE IT”, which is bullshit. The key to getting me to like something that I’m already checked out on isn’t to give me mountains of homework or to make me consume ALL of it.

Of the 3 movies the best ones IMHO are the first and the last one but book wise the Battle of Minas Tirith is in the Two Towers (2nd book) only it was shown in the Return of the King (3rd movie) for some reason. Though Christopher Lee (Saruman's actor) passed away a few years ago he was the ONLY actor that was old enough to have actually met JRR Tolkien the Lord of the Rings creator while HE was still alive Tolkien passed away in 1977 but Christopher Lee was 93 years old when he passed away in 2015.
Speaking of the two towers and Howard stern I was driving cab and listening to Howard stern when we announced that a plane flew into the first tower. Listened very intently till I dropped my passenger off and drove directly to the office sat down and watched the news. Till then I thought Howard stern was doing a bit.
This was a fun episode, love seeing Johanna and Joe on. Especially Joe doing voices and impressions. It is shocking that not alot of people like this one. Also very true when mentioning a movie event Especially with fantasy films. I do hope to see you guys on twitch playing the video games Two Towers on ps2 was awesome.

*rubs eyes* . HOLY CRAP! Glad to see you guys!
"Treebeard-a-dillo" made me legit laugh out LOUD
How could anyone ever expect the king's trusted right hand man BackStabby McBackstabber to have betrayed the king lol
That was Pippin that convinced Treebread to go south, not Merry. I haven't seen these movies since early this year and I still remember that lol. Hopefully you won't be that mistake in Return of the King. Love you man.
Just finished watching this and the video skips during the premier
I liked the first one so much that I bought the dvd at like 14. It came with a free ticket to see the sequel. I watched the two towers in the front row. Helms Deep was the baddest damn thing I have seen to this very day. It was like being there.
The Two Ta-Tas
When Tony is talking normal, he sounds weird. "and, what not". Okayy?!
Bulba! Bulbasaur!!!!!
WHERE WAS GONDOR WHEN I WAS GETTING PEGGED??
Your car guy reminds me of Bard Garret on Seinfeld...better make sure he isnt driving it later..hahaha and throwing golf clubs at ya
20... fucking... years... My gosh.
I always point out soma detail in the toe breaking scene, but it’s something completely different. If you pay close attention the their wardrobe and weapons, you can see that they flipped the scene. Everything is on the opposite sides.
The inclusion of the Requiem for a dream music in the Two Towers teaser trailer was always very puzzling to me. Just the iconic theme of a hardcore addiction tragedy just plopped into fantasy action.
Is Gandalf the voice of Plankton?
So.... where is the Return of the King review?
Peter Jackson also rates this movie as his favourite of the trilogy

The movie does actually deviate for the book in a lot of places but I mostly agree with the changes from a movie making standpoint.

Tony, be careful about challenging Vigo Mortensen to a fight. Watch Eastern Promises, and keep in mind that anyone who fights a man who is that comfortable fighting with his balls swinging in the wind is not likely to win.
