Glad they were nice, sometimes I find the fruits have a refreshing citrus overtone to the flesh. So much better getting fresh fruit straight from the tree 😁

Wow, you're fortunate to be able to pick some fresh loquats grown outside in the UK, Joe! They looked very juicy and sounded like they were incredibly tasty too. I love loquats, I hope I can eventually grow some here 🤞

Hey Peter, I’ve been watching this tree for quite some time. I decided to stop by today and the hospitality that was shown to me by these women was so lovely. I was pleasantly surprised how good the fruit tasted. I do hope you get to grow some were you are. 🙌🏾🌱

Wow they fruit really late across the pond, mine were done fruiting by Feb. those are nice sized ones and I haven’t ever tasted a bad one. I’m amazed at how many different varieties and different tasting ones there are.

@@joestropicals6760 try and find a variety named Peluche that originated in Spain. Huge fruits about the size of a small pear and extremely juicy and delicious. Extremely hard to find in the US but you may be luckier as you’re a lot closer to the source. You won’t be disappointed.

I'm truly amazed at what grows in London's microclimate. When you see these people again maybe you could ask if you can take a few cuttings. That should give you fruit sooner than from seed and an exact copy of theirs.

Here in California, loquats can grow almost anywhere. However they are largely planted for ornament. Non Asians rarely appreciate the edible fruit. The same thing is true of feijoa (pineapple guava) - widely planted only for ornament. 👎
