Not getting great loot is fine with me, It's just sad it felt like a FOMO event again, same with raptor. Like.. "Login to make sure you don't miss out on a potential tavias rod thats totally not 1/1000000" There was no soul to it, they just slapped a chest there and called it good. Fallen very far from events like the beach that actually had new content made/cosmetics made especially for it. Of course the loot is free, so I'm not really upset with getting bad loot, more about just the style/effort put into the event itself. Felt sort of like Balthazar's Big Raffle which I always hated.

Got all shitty items and few seeds worth of 5 mill. At the end of day my loot will most likely drop to 500k to 1m. Pretty good let down for monthly job.

Keep in mind these two events were labelled as "experiments", in a sense it's good we express ourselves because that's the feedback Jagex needs. That being said, both of these events were bad, if Jagex has plans to do something similar, they should learn from these mistakes. Perhaps a Poll for their next experiment is in order.

@@Kranon Is not an experiment when this event already been in the past. Is that most dont know that Frank chest event been in rs before with archeology items or not. But for sure it had the 100m and seeds raw food included.

I am not disappointed because I went into this event knowing it would be poor quality! Opened my chest today and my first thought was "yep.... that is exactly what I expected. Moving on".

This event along with others are absolutely trash. I really, really miss the events that Jagex poured their heart and soul Into because they knew that the players wouldn't tolerate anything less. These days they are only creative and concerned with Th events. They have definitely lost their focus but we are to blame... We allow this type of stuff to happen and basically reward them by spending money every time a new th event comes along. I refuse to spend money on anything other than my membership that's still the same price as It was years ago. I haven't opened my chest up yet though. Probably do that In a few minutes after I finish mining the Alaea crabs left on the Island.

Remember the old seasonal events like Xmas or Halloween, where you'd play some minigame or miniquest for a few minutes, in a cool new area with funny examines and dialogue, and get a cool cosmetic toy out of it? Instead of grinding the same boring AFK shit at Draynor for 40h, or grinding for paper to exchange for gifts hoping for that one GG tradeable item?

Pretty disappointing event lol. I had max rolls and ended up with a chest worth 4 mil. Unless they re-think this event, I don't think they should run it again.

It was an experiment, besides, 4-5M is a day worth of Rune Shop Runs + Vis Wax (minus costs of runes themselves). Good Riddance if they scrap this idea from their books.

it sucked. The fact we had constant popups and front page news made it WAY more hyped than it should have been. most of us got between 5 and 7 mill.. over a month. So.. 160k a day worth of GP.. yay.. it felt like being told we might go to disneyland, but on the day. it was a visit to the dentist..

Not a fan of the FOMO style event, but specifically the loot pool felt like they were trying to inject some items that were in short supply into the game. A lot of the items should lower the cost of PvMing/maintenance items, like the wines, anima stones, and raw meats.

3m is what I get after playing 48+hours for the month of January out of the chest 🙃. I spent more money on brews at arch this month than I got back from that chest lol.

My 48 keys got me about 6.7mil, 2 hard clues and a couple of ports resource crates. Seems like that's better than most of the commenters here so far, so I'll take it. Really hope they were fixing some resource shortages with this event, otherwise there was no point. Then again, that would only be a temporary fix; spending their effort on long term solutions and proper content would be preferable.

Honestly I think it was fine for an event that only requires you to exist. If it was an event that required you to do something specific for the same rewards I could probably say that it might be a little underwhelming.

I would much prefer something like this happens where it happens upon login, daily for a week or 2, with daily looting. None of this huge build up only to be disappointed by how bad the loot actually was.

I would have felt better about the event if the chest was able to be opened once a week. Though having to wait that long to open was dumb

I got about 5 mil out of this and my loot was nothing special. I got white berries and some other stuff that doesn't sell in the GE.. I did get a map though. I haven't used it yet. I also got something for a player owned farm

It just felt like they gave out an additional giant oyster with the requirement that you have to spend extra time on the game to get it… I actually got almost the same gp reward from my oyster this month. Weird event. Wasn’t even any fun dialogue or good reasons for it to exist.

Honestly, with the MTX events and garbage like this, I seriously would still consider moving to OSRS. As much as I like the combat and the bossing. I feel like much more love is poured into OSRS. Plus I am feeling nostalgic, I do hop on OSRS every time there is an event because they have been good. I do hope one day that Jagex pay more attention to RS3 again instead of creating these shoddy events no one asked for.

Their is plenty of nostalgia in OSRS for me, maybe that died for you. But Jagex only care about the profit they generate from the MTX events they provide. Not to mention that both games are still caked with bots. There are definitely flaws on both games. I think Jagex has a lot of ground they need to make up for the sake of longevity.

My rewards only added up to 2m nothing good I wasn’t expecting anything since I didn’t get any drops from the raptor event either and I did my daily everyday for that event

Was kinda pissed at this. Only upside is I bought a couple d picks for cheap for myself to form the ultimate mining tool.

Made 5.2ish mil with maybe half the keys you had better than the raptors event for me I guess lol

I have 48 keys and by the time I sold everything it was 3.5m… rubbish as I then got 14m from the oyster

I didn't quite get max keys since I only played for like half of the month, but yeah I got jack shit. zero clues, not even a dragon item, just toad legs, pure essence, clay, wicked hood tokens, some planks and wines of zamorak. Best thing I got was white berries lmao. Just all kinds of useless junk

I got about 6mil loot. Funny thing though, the rewards displayed 500 raw meat. I got 1000 raw meat :/ quite confusing. I could also swear by that meat stack that it only showed 50m coins for me and not 100m. Oh well

Because they have spent the dev time making this, I would mind it returning. At least it's not MTX

My chest was about 7.2m had max keys.

i like the idea of getting loot for logging in/playing but if it's going to last this long of a period the loot might need to be better or, there might need be more. if you ask me lol

For Irons, this might be nice. Some seeds, some planks, maybe some charms. For casuals this was garbage. Raptor's wasn't that good either. If you don't do Zuk or Ambi, that event did fuck all for you. I would've preferred if they just added the elder overload golem in PvM hub for like 2 weeks and added a free deaths week like they did a few years back. At least there would've been some incentive for new people to try out bossing.

Yeah I hated this event. Felt like a FOMO login daily event where u get even less than a monthly giant oyster even with max pirate keys. Really makes me miss the RS anniversary and winter/summer weekend events or the free death week events previously before ring of death rework. Rather have those vs. raptor rampage and this pirate keys event.

I feel this event was a big disappointment. My loot was 5.2m and nothing is selling even at way under GE price.

I got 4.3m worth stuff for max keys rofl.. no dye, no santa suit pieces.. Seriously Jagex has got to do better.

That said, this event was bad, plain and simple. Next event shouldn't repeat these mistakes. So we should be careful in how we provide our feedback to Jagex, because the idea is let them know the event was a failure in our eyes, rather than bashing at them because we didn't won a Hero Item with a 1/Never Rarity. Is like buying a Lottery Ticket and throwing a rock at the vendor because we didn't won. We're gentlemen not animals.

I always remember what some say *reddit is only the 2% of the player base not all* and they are right. Most in there just didnt play rs in years or play oldschool and only go there to start a fight.

This event was never meant to be something really good. They said it was a test on other ways they can reward people for just playing the game. Think of it like someone giving you a lotto ticket for just playing. You're not likely to get anything good, but if you do, hey it was free.

Not really complaining about the rewards, free stuff is free stuff, but more like - what was the point of the event?

Exactly, it felt shallow and just a way to get players to login. No story, no idea behind it, no personality. Just a chest and hey login. Really reminded me of some modern MMOs and how they run events, which Runescape always had a charm about their events/holiday events that set them apart, and this makes me feel like they're losing that.

Loot felt like TRASH, absolute GARBAGE. I didn't even get a unique - I literally felt like abandoning the loot entirely and not banking it in disgust.

People complaining about the avatar rework being shelved and the RoD changes (edaters and RoD noobs crying themselves to sleep) but no one mentions the pointless trash like this that they put in the game. They could have spent the time on doing Ninja Fixes instead of making this and it would have been about the same amount of effort with a much better payoff.

I mean the Avatar rework I was sad about, but I think these events are made as a quick way to get people to feel like they need to login everyday, the FOMO events where you're like..hmm I really should login so I get my keys so I don't potentially miss out on a super rare tavias rod, or 100m even though the odds of those are extremely low. I just feel like there's no soul to these events, the past events used to have actual new content made that had either a story behind it, rewards made especially for it (The beach) and now its just..."Hey lets add a random chest to the game and throw some random items into it! Boom event!"

They could've fixed the Signs of Life to not Reduce Adrenaline not Bind you in place. For me keep the ROD changes, but fix the damn signs, it's been literal years and nobody seems to care enough.

this event was very underwhelming. i get its a test but def dont bring this out again. almost nearing trash. sure its just playing rs but i think the loot has to be better. doesnt have to be tavias map type of rewards but at minimum maybe 1 ultra rare reward such as say 200m gp or ahandful of master clues etc. then normal loot thats way better thne what was avaiable. just seemed like this wasnt thought out at all. just throw some random ass loot but also make ti shit in value except u can git the jackpot and get a 3b gp item.

Jagex gets people to be online for 48 hrs (12 hrs x 4 weeks) for a reward of 5M (average) and maybe (just maybe) 100M if you dumb lucky..... and Jagex wonders why people buy a bil for $30..

So tired of these bad fomo events.

Outside of the underwhelming loot, I think this kind of event is nice. It allows you to continue playing as you like, limits the maximum rewards and give everyone a long time to maximize their rewards. It's a nice little bonus for playing the game. It can definitely be improved to add some soul and make the rewards feel more impactful, but a good starting point. I feel like there are too many players in the end game getting upset because they didn't get handed 500m and 6 months membership for putting in all that effort to login and play a game.

i've got more loot from frank chest than raptor's favour srry for bad english

It's an event that takes very minimal time investment, absolutely zero skill or effort, and provides rewards to anyone logging into the game. I see nothing wrong with a few free mil. I got 32m, my wife got 6m. For playing the game we were already going to play. Win win.

i had no problem with this event, you get 15 rolls on a mediocre loot table for zero effort. i dont see the issue. most people who are complaining are the ones who, by their own admission, got poop loot. i mean what did you expect really? when i opened the chest the only thing going through my mind was "neat free 3m"

Why is noone talking about the horrible cap on keys? Like I understand you cant just let people get keys forever but I had my max keys every time on day 2 of the week... Nothing that rewards player that grind the shit out of their game. They just recieve the same measely 4m like a player that hops on once a day to claim their keys.

All recent events were RNG based. And as a result I have gotten only more garbage. Absolutely not looking forward to any future events. It's all FOMO junk. Never got lucky on any of the events in 2021-2022 and as a result I am considering dumping the whole game, as it's so RNG focused.

While I enjoy the free stuff, I mean who doesnt? The fact that someone can just do a duplicate scam and put in 2 million times more coinage into the game than the average player will get from this event is just showing you how really worthless the drops were from this event. There is no real achievement here just a giveaway. I think its just a way to ease players off the wrapping paper event in a nice way.

I mean I would agree that you didn't do much but you still might have logged in a lot more to get these keys than normally if you felt like you were "missing out" on a potential tavias rod, even though that rod was extremely rare. I think the thing that irks me is the lack of creativity and thought put into this. Not so fussed about the loot, but more that it just felt like someone made it in 5 minutes to try to keep interest in the game when there were no updates.
