Glad I could help, Acer owns the Gateway brand, so some of their laptops have similar parts.

Sir, my laptop is acer aspire f15 . Can i do the same for it? cuz i dont know if your laptop and mine has the same frame. Please can you check it out. I have placement exams all are online and this issue is very troubling me .

hey i have a Gateway Refurbished Black 15.6" NE56R41u windows 8 Laptop and my lcd was cracked so i took off the screen and the main wire split by accadent and i lost the end peace of it so it does not work could u help me find the cord well and the mic and the camera and a vidio to put them back in plzz and thank you

What main wire are you talking about?

The little plastic or glass lens over my webcam was pulled off by my daughter. If I buy the pay on Ebay will it have that?

What part on Ebay are you talking about? Thanks for the help, but unfortunately, the results are the same; no camera is found. I purchased a usb web cam this weekend and it works fine, but this built in one is baffling me! again, thanks for your help

I refuse to give up! haha. What is the exact model of the laptop? NE56Rxxu? replace the "xx" with the number that you have. and what operating system is the laptop running, either Windows 7 or Windows 8?

Thanks for the information, I just wanted to know which operating system you had so I can give more detailed instructions. Ok lets start by troubleshooting the issue.With the laptop turned on, hold down the "Windows" key, and press "X", go to "device manager". Next, in the list of devices that shows up go to "Imaging devices" and see if "HD WebCam" shows up below "imaging devices" if not, click the small white arrow on the left of where it says "imaging devices". If there is a yellow exclamation point on the left of where it says "HD WebCam" then something is wrong either with the driver software, or the connection to the camera or the camera itself. If you do get the yellow exclamation point, right click on "HD WebCam" and go to "Properties" in the box below "Device Status" it should tell you the problem that Windows has detected. Tell me what the message below "Device Status" says.
