Yes, it’s a work area not a curated film set, real authentic life! I have cleaned my desk (I do it every few months) and it looks tidier now but it won’t last forever!!

Yes, she popped up because KZread decided to show that floral to everyone, that’s how I found her. We creators are totally at the mercy of KZread’s computers! But it is a pretty painting and reminds me of one by a well known US artist - I’ll have to dig it out sometime.

@@DianeAntoneStudio I know what you mean. We're all at the mercy of KZread and Facebook as to what pops up and what they show us!! But as for watercolor I've found some wonderful artists have "popped up" and I'm learning so much. You are my favorite!

Yes, Frankie has come back, but he’s not well, I think he’s got Cat Covid like the other two in the house have just recovered from. We can expect another fortnight of nursing him! I’m so glad you enjoy the channel, and I know that at least one person “gets” my idea of funny LOL!

I agree with you. I always find the sketching part causes me mild anxiety because I’m afraid it’ll go wrong. If I start with paint and no expectations my anxiety is less. It’s a constant struggle in a way but it’s definitely worth doing some paintings with no drawing beforehand.

Thanks so much for caring, he did come home and now I’ve shut him in for a while so he remembers where he lives! He seems to have a mild case of cat flu and is very quiet. He was a rescue and he doesn’t have much confidence in life poor soul xx

Thanks Deirdre, Frankie is okay now, but I think he caught a chill in the cold weather because he’s so soppy about not coming home. I’m trying to keep him in the warm as much as possible now. Thanks for your kind comments about the painting - Shana’s version was pretty, I’ve seen similar ones done on KZread by other people so it was good to give it a try. Hope you enjoy the poppies (we don’t have any in our garden, too wet!)

Absolutely beautiful! I wish I could have a go at that but probably won't do much except for work this week. I have a frozen right shoulder so painting is out of the question.

I went to look up Rusty Nelson and found him! I didn't notice much watercolor but he is a photographer. I watched his beginning video, and he was going to the Villages in Florida. I watched for a few minutes, wondering the whole time, why is Diane recommending this guy? Then I searched for Rusty Nelson Watercolor and found the right Rusty Nelson! I loved your painting. The conversation was fantastic too. I prayed you will find your cat.

I love that the watercolor community seems to be fairly small, but kind to one another. I did Shana's tutorial when it first came out and I have to say that these delphinium-like flowers are some of my favorite to paint. She paints the flowers first, then paints the stem and needs to connect the flowers to the stem. I like painting the stem first and then just popping the flowers right onto it. I sure hope Frankie turns up.

Thanks Laurie, yes, Frankie turned up with a dose of Cat Covid, so he’s okay but very under the weather. Just like the other two in the house who have had it recently. With those flowers it just seemed logical to do the stem first, I think because the line of the floral stems is important to the success of the painting so I wanted to get that right first. If I’d done the flowers first I might have wandered off the line! Yes, the art community is quite accepting of each other I think. Less communication between channels than I would like - I’ve tried to have dialogues with many but don’t really click with any of them yet.

@@DianeAntoneStudioAww... that poor baby. . . Frankie needs cuddles and chicken soup, okay . . . maybe just the chicken. I need to develop a flip book of flowers as a reference for all of the flowers that can include in a floral, now that we've painted so many. The angel on my shoulder is telling me that they all wouldn't bloom at the same time, or in even the same part of the world, so I need to be careful what I combine together in a composition. The devil on my other shoulder is telling the angel to sit down and be quiet, because I can combine whatever I want, because painting is not companion planting, for goodness sake! Ooooh... I could start putting ALL of the birds we do this month in them too. Endless combinations of flowers and birds. (I think I just heard a whimper from the angle who's sitting in a corner, rocking back and forth, lol.)

Yes, they do. He is absolutely regular about turning up for meals and when he didn’t I knew something was wrong. He seems to have come down with Cat Covid like the other two in the house. He’ll be okay but it’ll take a fortnight of nursing…

It’s a palette which is made by Masterson for acrylic painters but it fits nicely for the Kuretake ones. Here’s a link: Masterson Sta-Wet palette. amzn.to/3R69zy2. I use the bottom for the main set and the top for the art nouveau set.

Hi Wim, yes, our cat returned but with a problem - he seems to have caught cat flu and he’s not very well. I think it’s Cat Covid. But he’ll be okay, he’s still eating. No baby animals here except the new broods of bluetits and sparrows!

That’s a good point, but he’d have to go a looong way to find a shed with a door round here! Luckily he turned up late that night, although he does have cat flu now so he’s not unscathed.

I wish we could see the colors you are mixing and not just see the mixed bits on paper… I like being able to determine how much of a color you mix.
