I just always go down one or two needle sizes for ribbing. Makes it good and tight. I do however have to use this technique for the stitches at the ends of double pointed needles.

My ribbing wasn’t cinching in, guess that’s my issue. I’ll try this today, want to make a hat. Should I make my ribbing in a smaller needle than recommended? Thanks ☺️
