🐎 Loori, a female pony, was rescued by Sophie Memorial Animal Relief Trust, a local shelter in Greater Noida, which primarily works to rescue & help dogs. At the time she was suffering from jaundice, most probably the reason why she was abandoned. They did their best, treating & nursing her back to health, before recognising the need for specialised care and with their lack of infrastructure to shelter a large animal in the long run, they reached out to us. That is how Loori came to the sanctuary. At more than 17 years age, Loori is not a young girl but she will now luckily spend her golden years in a nurturing environment surrounded by other equine friends and devoted caregivers.
🏡 Fortunate to have found compassion in her time of need, Loori will live out her days happily and comfortably at the Friendicoes Lifetime Care Sanctuary, a true example of what a difference kindness can make. In the 2 months that she has lived in the sanctuary we can already see a change in her personality; gone is the shy, hesitant girl who had walked out of the ambulance and in her place is a confident lady who makes her impatience & displeasure known loud & clear and boldly nudges her caregivers for a treat. It costs us around INR 8,000 monthly to care for each of our nearly 200 rescued working equines, emphasising how crucial every contribution is. Loori's story also testifies to the wonderful impact of what shelters can achieve by joining hands and working together towards the same goal.
